More good news, the ring can be resized to the size I need! I even found a bit of gold that I needed to scrap so I brought that in, figure I’ll put it towards the sizing.

This is my pawn shop guy, he is my go to for jewelry repairs and resizing now. He brought out this ring while I was there and let me take it outside to get some pictures. I could do without the ring guard but wow, it was fun to play dress up!

Forgot to add that this was a loan that went up paid for 50 days, the guy pawned the ring for 2k!

i just dont know what sort of reaction to 'like' this with
i feel sad for the ring
it needs a new loving home ...
i kinda love the enhancer elements

I found some fun things at yard sales today.
This nice vase. It is a sage green, but the camera doesn't really show the color well.
If I'm lucky, it is 1900-1920. Hopefully it's as old as it looks. 14" high.
I'm still doing research on it, and I'll report back. $4.00!
IMG_20211009_112824835~4.jpg

And an old mirror, 1920-40.
$2.00
(That big brown blob is the reflection of my couch)
IMG_20211009_112223050.jpg

And of course, jewelry!!
Three large sterling snake chains in differing lengths. One sterling necklace, also a snake chain, with CZs.
And gold earrings! The pearl drops are 18k.
The two pairs of ball studs are both 14k. 9mm and 5mm

All of this Jewelry was under $5.00

IMG_20211009_111627816.jpg

some great finds today
but i always feel a bit sad seeing pretry things so undervalued
for the sake of $5 its rather give it to a little girl in the family than sell it

but its all found you now =)2

@stracci2000 and @lala646,
Whoops, I totally goofed and just replied to Daisy without realizing she was talking about the big set. I deleted that post to try to keep things from getting confusing!

I didn’t buy either the solitaire or the guard pictured here. First of all, he didn’t even have specs on it and then when I asked how much (because I had to ask you know) he told me 5K cash! How can you ask 5K when you don’t know the size/color/clarity?!

This is a perspective picture, how big do you think the solitaire is?

Sorry for the confusion everyone!

I was thinking between 1.25 and 1.5, it’s hard to judge with the guard though and it was really wedged in there good.

Today we went to this huge 26,000 square foot antique center, lots to look at including a booth with many festive decorations:

Didn’t find anything there so we hit a few more places including this shop tucked behind a larger antique place. There I found this! I have no idea of the time period but I have been after (and bought from Australia) a bracelet similar to this. It is marked 925 and weighs 69 grams!

It is shocking that you found this beautiful bracelet, on the heels of the other one from Etsy!
Coincidence?......or fate??

Now you have a pair. But three makes a collection, so there is another one in your future, for sure!

Right? I literally lost all my cool when I saw this bracelet, I nearly threw the money at the woman lol!

I don’t think this one is French for lack of hallmarks but I haven’t been able to pin down an era or where it might have come from. I plan on wearing one on each wrist, like Wonder Woman!

It would be great to just find a third….

I found this book at my antique mall.
I have the paperback edition.
This is the hardback edition.
Why did I buy it, if I already have the paperback? Because it is signed!!

I've been wanting a Kitchen Aid mixer for so long! But they are $$$!
I didn't even know that MIL had this, until after her passing. I saw it at the house and mentioned that it was a very nice mixer.
FIL must have been listening!

And I looked at examples of Elizabeth Taylor's handwriting to make sure that it was authentic, and it appears to be. Yay!

@ItsMainelyYou -

Did you know that David Klass' father cut the Elizabeth Taylor diamond?

How's THAT for excellent trivia?!
Are you talking about the Krupp?
No freaking way! Amazing!!!!
Edit: @mrs-b.... I cannot find any information about that online, can you share any more info???
Even Christie's did not mention the cutter.

o_OWHaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?! NO way! That's awesome!

*Also, don't know if you're still looking but 20% off sale on that green tourmaline!

David's father was a very well known and highly respected diamond cutter back in the day. My understanding is that he cut a lot of significant diamonds, including the ET diamond. As I recall, it was Amy who told me about David's father first, but David retold that story - extremely humbly, I might add - at my request, at the PS get-together I held at my home a few years back now. He thought the world of his dad and obviously got his love of diamonds from him. He referred to the 'Elizabeth Taylor Diamond' - but since the Krupp was renamed, it's possible that there was a previous diamond known as the ET diamond. I'm not sure. Next person to speak to him on the phone should ask!

She had so many beautiful and large diamonds, like the 29.4 ct. that Mike Todd gave her, and many others. I wouldn't be surprised if the senior Klass cut several of them!

I added a pic in the French silver thread but wanted to add some here too.

Hot out the mailbox and all the way from Australia, here is my new bracelet. It is lighter than I anticipated but I have my heavy silver bracelet on the other wrist so it’s all good. The workmanship is amazing and I’m going to keep the watch chain on there too since they play well together.

Our seven year old took the picture of both wrists so you can see the comparison, not sure of the origin of the right hand bracelet, there are no stamps apart from “925”

Current left hand look (excuse the dry hands)

It is so cute! I’m going to leave it on I think. It could go on a necklace but just seems to be at home on the bracelet.

I found these cool things at a yard sale yesterday.
This is a hand carved plaque from Egypt.
The seller said she bought it from the craftsmen at Giza.
IMG_20211113_105835466.jpg
And this is an Asian style bench that I really love. Its a contemporary piece but it was only $25, so I couldn't resist! I have Asian furniture all over the house, so it is right up my alley
IMG_20211113_105754913.jpg
And here is my new Tacori Diamonique ring from QVC. This is from my antique mall.
It is sterling with 2.15 pretend carats. It's pretty sweet!
