White gold or platinum settings for stud earrings?

I have 1.5ctw stud earrings from Blue Nile. For the past two years they've been in 3 prong martini white gold settings. I'm having them re-set into 4 prong basket settings. I prefer the 'shininess' of white gold over platinum and also wonder whether they will be lighter and therefore less inclined to droop and/or drag down the earlobe as I get older. I have a white gold eternity ring and platinum e-ring and w-band which are MUCH heavier. Anyone have any thoughts on which metal is best for earrings? I'm leaning towards WG...
