Hi everyone. I am torn between two diamonds. Would love your help check out the video here - and here are the same diamonds in more LED lighting

I am leaning towards the diamond on the RIGHT - it has better depth and gives more sparkle - but i wonder if it's a yellow-y G? or if it just looks yellow bc i am putting it next to the E. Would love your thoughts thank you so much!

Before pulling the trigger, check out augustvintageinc.com Take a look at their opulance ovals. These stones are cut for optimal performance and Jonathan (@Rhino) is a pleasure to deal with. Good luck to you.

Thank you so much ! I wonder if they have an in person store location ... and I wonder if these diamonds are Gia. ???

They have an in person location in NY and I believe the stones have AGS ideal grades that have light performance reports (which isn't yet offered thru GIA).

OP - contact Jonathan, ask him how you can view the stones. His stones are certified via AGS, ideal grades. You owe it to yourself to see his opulence ovals. I would strongly consider one of the opulence ovals if I were considering an oval stone.

Queenie thank you so much. We are already in touch and I am eyeing the 2.41 he has . It’s gorgeous but an H color and I told myself the lowest I wanted to go was G . He said because of the way the diamond is cut though that it appears super white ... here’s an Instagram link to it

Have you seen his opulent oval size in person??

Sorry I meant opulent ovals not size lol!!

Thank you so much everyone - @rockysalamander @Queenie60 @ringo865 - i love these ovals however when looking at the spread - they are spread like a 1.5 (given the depth probably has to be so deep to get them to be so brilliant)- and the sizes we are looking at are 2.25-2.5 - these diamonds are gorgeous but i am not sure if i want to sacrifice size

Both the ocall you posted have a persistent bow tie and poorly defined facets at the ends. Can you tell us your budget for the diamond? I found this, but may be too small.

I'm sure if you tell Jon, he has access to other (non-branded) ovals and can help you find a spreadier one (with lesser bowtie than is common).

Oh wow - you think so? My budget for the diamond is 23-24 . sorry i dont see the link posted?

Found it on JA... thank you so much! Yeah - the symmetry is also only "good" - and the oval is a bit smaller than I would like... it's so hard to tell IMO from the JA videos . Thank you so much for showing me

I know we can’t have our cake and eat it too, but I wish there was an opulence oval with the spread of a regular oval! Or maybe even an opulence v2.0 with slightly less optics (which would still be better than most other ovals out there) with more spread.

Totally!!! I am leaning towards this one https://www.augustvintageinc.net/co...ucts/2-41ct-h-si1-august-vintage-oval-1670852 @fige what do you think? I also posted it in another thread here! :) https://www.pricescope.com/communit...av-opulent-oval-thoughts.238494/#post-4299357

For comparison my current stone is 2.15carat and 10.51 x 7.07mm. This was hand selected by Rhino at Good old Gold (who invented opulence) and considered to have ideal optics for an oval before opulence ovals existed (i.e. as good as it gets outside of opulence ovals) so not too shallow. The opulence you linked is about 10% larger in carat weight but 15% smaller in dimensions (is that just over 20% smaller in size on a carat like for like basis?). My stone sparkles like crazy, I’ve never been disappointed. I’m not spruking my stone (because it’s against the rules, if I’m breaching something here let me know and I’ll remove the link) but I wanted it give you a link to the video so you can see that really sparkly ovals exist outside of opulence.

It’s a really hard decision... In my view the choices are:

Getting GOG to find you a stunner with where you can maintain the spread

The opulance (where you can potentially drop a few color grades in favour of more size) with true ideal performance.

This information is SO helpful!! Thank you so much. your ring is STUNNING <3 !!!

This is really hard for me. The 2.41 i am lookig at is spread like most of the 1.7-1.8 I have seen so more that I think about it - i really need to consider all the options here. I so appreciate this !!!!
