Which Marquise ASETs to get?

Hi, which 3 marquise ASETs would you order? I've been looking at marquise diamonds for a while reading as many of the threads on this form as I can find. Thanks in advance.

I'm definitely going through JamesAllen for the return and selection. My center stone budget is $4k-$9k, .9 to 1.25c and it needs to be beautiful, which is hard to know from the other characteristics. So I'm going to ask for ASETs and possibly have them sent to me if I have close ties.

Which three would you pick? Would you suggest any others?

OK so, the thread that had the mq asets has sense been deleted :/

But I did save the asets. I am about 90% sure this aset is for that f. The small culet makes me thing I'm right.

I like the fat marquise... so my fav is the 1.25 G VS1...it is also one of the cheaper stones.
I also like the H ...that small table is really nice with the higher crown.


Will be interesting to see the ASETS.

The facets seems chrisp and its just so evenly bright throughout.

With that said, its the thinest, and you don't get a lot for how much you're spending.

So if you pass on it, I totally get that. Its a shame its such high clarity you really don't need that.

In not a huge fan of this one as it gets leaky right in the center of the table.

Let me look. I was searching for someone else recently but they were all 1.5+ so I'll look in your range. But you have a very nice selection right now.

I love the shape of the 1.5 F but I don't think its as well cut as the current top 3 you have. What size is your finger? I just bought a 1.5 ct mq very similar to the 1.5 E I suggested. I think its an amazing size. And I used to have a .9 ct. Bit my finger size is larger at 7.5

The 1.11D is too long and skinny (plus you would be paying a lot for high clarity but that's a side note) for me.
As far as the other ones mentioned, I don't care for the faceting pattern on the 1.15E (personal opinion).
The 1.51F looks leaky to me. Faceting pattern is not clear and crisp. The GOG 2.01 has got a really funky faceting pattern and is
also leakier than what I consider normal for a marquise.

I never love the idea of having to pay to get an aset. But then again I'm not wowed by the F 1.5ct so I mean, you could use your last pick on it and it could suprise or just get 2, OR, get that F we already have an aset on just to reserve it and make sure it's not snatched up.

I have really high hopes for that e 1.5

Its nice that the inclusion is white and very well may be eye clean at normal distance. its my favorite, but then again I forgive si clarity on marquise when they are very well cut and fit my other criteria.

I mean, there is a benefit to reserving the f even though we have the aset. ThaT At least you can have them do an eye comparison.

I ordered those three. Yeah that 1.5 E could be a steal and a beauty if it's not very noticeable. I'm excited about that one too.

Thoughts on settings? Are marquis hard to deal when one adds a wedding band? She's a big ruby and rose gold fan. I was thinking of a solitaire in rose gold, or maybe a three-stone with rubies.

oh yes, Ive always loved a marquise with pear side stones.

now, first things first, youll want to decide, are you doing rose gold or are you going rubies. Because if the red in rubies, usually rose gold doesnt really look good with rubies, so it wont be a great idea to combine them...

Rose gold? LOOOVE it, i was considering doing it myself for my MQ solitaire im currently working on. I think this would be the freshest option. You dont see mq in rose gold often, and it would freshen it up.

Rubies? My concern with adding rubies in the e ring is kind of 90s. not in a bad way, but problem is, add that to the 80s vibe of marquise, it give the ring a "dated" vibe, and i think that might be something to avoid.
however, you could always do a three stone with all diamonds, or a solitaire in white metal and get a ruby wedding band. You still get the rubies in the mix, but you avoid some of those pitfalls.

its hard to plan a really amazing mq solitaire because there really arent a lot of good pictures out there. Most MQ solitaires on the internet have peg heads. Those are fine, but not what you want to do if you want to elevate the look. To your point about a wedding band, most likely, depending on the solitaire or 3 stone setting you use, there will be a little donut, or circle at the bottom of the head (the part that holds the MQ) this donut will provide a slight gap between the wedding band and the e ring. Not an issue, really, IMHO. some it bothers some people, but really its so slight, i wouldnt sacrifice a nice setting just to reduce a, say, 3 mm gap.
 
heres an example of a larger gap, i think an MQ setting could be done in a way that would lessen this gap, but heres an example of a moderate -to- large one.

My two fav's are the Catherine Zeta Jones set E/W with the sub-halo and paved shank...also the Dover Jewelery one with the 4 marquise ...2 on each side. An antique setting using that idea would be gorgeous.

Fingers crossed for you on that 1.52ct. I've been zooming out and looking at it, ive got high hopes they'll give it an eye clean grade.

They can do it. There is a $150 non refundable custom fee.

They only have a few that have gold prongs in very simple, modern designs.

Thank you for your patience while waiting for the ASET images of diamonds 289516, 355540, and 289496. I've attached an interpretation guide for ASET images to the bottom of this email, so please read that over. Other customers have found it very helpful and I hope you agree! Additionally, I've made each of their item numbers a hyperlink to their listing on our website.

The gemologist has provided some great feedback! They've determined that diamond 289516 ($7,710) has great fire, brilliance, and scintillation. Its brightness is well balanced, and it has the liveliest personality of your lineup. It has a minimal bowtie, an icy white color, and you should view it as eye clean. The inclusions are pretty difficult to see, so it will take a sharp eye and very close examination to locate them. Once it's set, we should be able to cover them with a prong.

Diamond 355540 ($4,940) also has a minimal bowtie and great light performance, ranking a close second for light performance. It's eye clean and has a true "H" color. Diamond 289496 ($8,920) has great light performance and a minimal bowtie too, but its fluorescence give it a very slight cloudiness. For that reason, it doesn't come highly recommended like your others do. It has a true "F" color, and depending on how sharp your vision is, you might be able to pick up on its inclusions.

You can feel good about moving forward with diamond 289516 or 355540, as they are both eye catching and highly recommended. You'll be satisfied with either of them, but I encourage you to consider diamond 289516 since it's the brightest and the gemologist's favorite.

The h is what I would pick. Its the one from your original post right?

And then this one is also on the table?

The h color I think would be just fine sense you're going to go with rose gold. They said that h is for sure eye clean?

I also like that F you didn't get an aset on.... The one we already had an aset for? Is that one still an option.

I'd say, sense you're saving a lot with the h would you be doing a little more with the setting? Or would it still be a soli?
