I love both of them also, but the back of the 1st is my favorite.

Ditto! Count another vote for the first one!!! It''s gorgeous

Dress 1!

no doubt about it #1! timeless and elegant

I like the first one!

I''m not a fan of pick ups either so definitely number one. It''s classic, elegant and beautiful.

Without a doubt, dress style #1. I am not a fan in any way of those pick up doohickies. And people have said it before, and I tend to agree, that pick ups will look dated in the not too distant future. I also think with that design, the pick ups in the back simply look too much like an after thought because the beauty of that dress - and it IS stunning - is in the draping, and pick ups are like the 'anti draping' aren't they?! I really think that the first dress will look heart stopping on your bod. You seem to have the figure to pull it off and you'll look like a confection wrapped in silk, what could be bad about that? You also seem very 'classic' in your styles, based on the ering you selected, so I'm thinking dress #1 is the classic choice...

Just so NO to pick ups!

ETA: If you change to the pick up skirt I'm going to have to come up there to the hinterlands and smack some sense into you! It's dress #1...You know those photos from the 1980s where the bride's wearing some whack southern belle hat with crazy netting and big PUFFY sleeves and a heinous tiered skirt? It looks dated right? Do you want to look at your wedding photos 10-20 years from now and think 'what was I thinking with that skirt?!? It looks like coffin lining...?!?' Of course you dont! Go classic. There's a reason classic styles endure, they dont look whack 20 years from now...

Dress #1. This tough love message brought to you by Surfgirl. Dress #1.
What surfgirl said! Although the coffin lining was maybe a touch too far...ok maybe not. The 80s comment really hit home though, I remember my cousin's wedding (I was the flower girl) and her dress had HUGE puffy sleeves with a GINORMOUS veil monstrosity thing, and hair that was teased to the ceiling and thinking, "Oh she looks so pretty. Like Barbie." What was Barbie wearing around that time you might ask? Big hair, big bangs, giant puffy sleeves and neon colors in micro minis and leggings.

And looking back at those trends...yikes.

I think this is a good representation:

Stupid pictures...

Oh. And said cousin...had her bridesmaids wearing white dresses...with different neon colored stocking underneath. So in the pics...White calf length dresses with pink, orange, yellow, green and blue stockings....hee hee hee...

Or maybe this one. Don't mind me I'm having fun finding pics of Barbies from the 80s...I think this one was an actual ad. That I probably bought into...but that is another story.

ETA: Ken looks HOT.

Just because I''m bored... Here''s Barbie in a David''s Bridal pickup skirt design.

And Barbie in a Reem Acra pickup skirt design...which is actually quite pretty-I don''t know how they did that considering that she''s only 11 inches tall...But she is SO going to trip going down the aisle, it doesn''t look like she got any hem alterations at all!

This thread is hilarious. Surfgirl and Frekechild, you are both responsible for me embarrassing myeslf for laughing loudly in my cube. I have this image in my head of BECG walking down the aisle at her wedding...to a plastic-haired man.

I''ve noticed on PS that there are certain issues that really divide women and pick-up skirts is one of them!

1...1...1...1...1...1...1...1...1! Love it

Another vote for #1! Love the draping in the back!

OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!!! you just described my mother on her wedding day, and i mean EXACTLY, HAT AND ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! except fot the poofy sleeves--hers was like scarlett o''hara, so had the ruffle around the neck kind of off-shoulder, and she had long tight lace sleeves put underneath it as a modesty piece kind of deal. still though, that''s an uncanny description!

number 1 all the way

I don''t care for the pick-ups either

Not that my opinion is needed any longer, but dress 1. It drapes so nicely, why did they feel the need to add the pick ups?

I like #1 best too.

I think they are both pretty and I had no clue pickups were trendy, but #1 is gorgeous in the back!

I love #1!!!! The back is just stunning.

(Kylie Minogue--not from an actual wedding, but an '80s TV show she appeared on. Certainly not as heinous as they come!!)

Dude! Look at that guy's hair!

ETA: and YIKES to Bridal Barbie 1996!!! (Looks a lot like my evil SIL's dress though-only her wedding was in about 1988...NOT a good trend)

Of course it''s Number One with a bustle for the evening.

Big props for Surfgirl...lol

Love the Barbie Bonanza too.

Another vote for number 1 here

am I getting old or do Kylie and her "groom" look like they''re 14?

Another for #1 for all the reasons already stated.

LOVE those 80s Barbies LOL! The 80s were, like, totally radical, like, totally!
