I love both of them also, but the back of the 1st is my favorite.
What surfgirl said! Although the coffin lining was maybe a touch too far...ok maybe not. The 80s comment really hit home though, I remember my cousin's wedding (I was the flower girl) and her dress had HUGE puffy sleeves with a GINORMOUS veil monstrosity thing, and hair that was teased to the ceiling and thinking, "Oh she looks so pretty. Like Barbie." What was Barbie wearing around that time you might ask? Big hair, big bangs, giant puffy sleeves and neon colors in micro minis and leggings.Date: 5/5/2008 12:54:01 PM

Without a doubt, dress style #1. I am not a fan in any way of those pick up doohickies. And people have said it before, and I tend to agree, that pick ups will look dated in the not too distant future. I also think with that design, the pick ups in the back simply look too much like an after thought because the beauty of that dress - and it IS stunning - is in the draping, and pick ups are like the 'anti draping' aren't they?! I really think that the first dress will look heart stopping on your bod. You seem to have the figure to pull it off and you'll look like a confection wrapped in silk, what could be bad about that? You also seem very 'classic' in your styles, based on the ering you selected, so I'm thinking dress #1 is the classic choice...
Just so NO to pick ups!![]()
ETA: If you change to the pick up skirt I'm going to have to come up there to the hinterlands and smack some sense into you! It's dress #1...You know those photos from the 1980s where the bride's wearing some whack southern belle hat with crazy netting and big PUFFY sleeves and a heinous tiered skirt? It looks dated right? Do you want to look at your wedding photos 10-20 years from now and think 'what was I thinking with that skirt?!? It looks like coffin lining...?!?' Of course you dont! Go classic. There's a reason classic styles endure, they dont look whack 20 years from now...

OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!!! you just described my mother on her wedding day, and i mean EXACTLY, HAT AND ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! except fot the poofy sleeves--hers was like scarlett o'hara, so had the ruffle around the neck kind of off-shoulder, and she had long tight lace sleeves put underneath it as a modesty piece kind of deal. still though, that's an uncanny description!Date: 5/5/2008 12:54:01 PM

(Kylie Minogue--not from an actual wedding, but an '80s TV show she appeared on. Certainly not as heinous as they come!!)
It''s not you, it looks like a high school wedding to me!Date: 5/5/2008 9:28:54 PM
