Have you already been to www.oldworlddiamonds.com???? Adam is well regarded on PS and often has other diamonds not listed on the web. Worth a phone call ( and I stress PHONE CALL... because email replies can take a while... ) but call and chat on their 1-866# and see what he can do for you. He's found a lot of AMAZING diamonds for PSers here!

THIS!!!! Except I did everything through email- bought the diamond and the setting. I don't think I ever called till I had to pay for the thing. And I thought Adam was fantastic at email. But I guess maybe I caught him on a good several weeks. But definitely try OWD and JbEG!
I also did all my buying through emails with Adam. Very responsive. Almost immediately.

Also, in my opinion, if I wanted an antique cushion, I would get just that, an antique cushion. And not an AVC. They are beautiful, but there's just something about antique diamonds that newly cut diamonds don't have. They have this charm that you just can't copy.

I have tried Diamond zone but their videos seem a bit dark...i was not loving the diamonds I requested on video....unofortunately... :((

I must be catching Adam on some off days. I inquired with him a few days and have yet to hear? Not sure but my luck is not great there.
I am currently taking your insight and makingarrangements with Grace from JBEG to take a look at some of what she has in stock on the 24th. The wait is killing me....but I have time to still compare this AVC to OECs and OMCs out there ....the only OECs and OMCs I have seen have been at single stone (which is out of my willing range at the moment)....and Rambling Rose ( a small little antique jewelry place in Orange at the circle) . At that time I did not fall for anything and they were mostly OECs....mine cuts were not present....
We will see....I"ll keep updated....

I agree about the charm and love antiques to a certain extent as well.
The stones I have seen here have been lovely, but around me I have not seen many that call out....even though I loved the OMC at single stone the color bothered me but the light performance was beautiful.
I think that is what I love about the AVC ...the light performance is beautiful.
I have been thinking of your comment and agree but I am not tied to one or the other right now personally i guess....I want a stone that calls me and want to be sure it is the one.
I am not sure i am right in saying this but I guess I like my diamonds like my wood furniture. While I have and love certain well made vintage pieces ....I also love well made quality modern wood furniture with classic elements. I think through this I am figuring that my taste is more that I prefer the cut and light performance of the AVC along with the color ....and of course my willing budget.

I think my bf take on it is similar... its kind of like the context of a diamond being made by the earth....it took thousands of years for all these diamonds to be made by the earth and in that context a 100 + years difference isn't too much of a difference...what it has seen out of the earth is small in terms of what it has seen through its process and how it was made by the earth ( I think I am in love with my bf crazy thinking ) ...that is the beauty I love....each one has its charm and the cut that brings out its best performance is what is attracting me.
But to each their own...I do love the OECs and OMCs I have seen on here...absolutely charming and each beautiful in its own right.Maybe the minimal number of OMC is making it hard for me? Not sure...but anyway....
I love your diamond...btw....your 1.93 OEC honker :twirl: in that Tacori setting is classic and beautiful.....that has some beautiful charm!
Cheers!

You know, it is all about YOU. We have people on this forum that love true antiques and others that love newly cut diamonds. I started off with wanting an AVR, but realized that I would never be complete without a true antique. I had the privilege of being able to see an AVR and OECs in person and came to the realization that OECs just sing to me. But, in the search for my OEC, I had to go through some stones to find this perfect one that just came at me like a slap in the face. There wasn't one thing about my stone that I didn't love. So, no matter what people say, it's about you and how you feel. You're going to know exactly when you have found the perfect stone. Good Luck

That is very true YT!
I am finding that as I am going through this - I appreciate all your suggestions. It is helping me decide! :D

Re: Where can I find an antique cushion cut stone?

UPDATE!
I met with Grace from JBEG this morning!
I found my love stone!
Antique Cushion with the most blockety facets I have seen!-Grace says it's an I Si2 1.47ct. Larger than the AVC I have and compared it to and within our price range. Talk about getting slapped in the face YT!
This beauty had the most gorgeous rainbow facets- I can see the chunkiness galore- It's gorgeous- really pillowy and just gorgeous! I can see the chunks under the scope too- a true beauty and very clean in comparison!
I am finally decided. The 1.27 AVC is returning to GOG and even though I love their customer service and their patience with me in taking a look at this stone- affording an AVC in my desired weight and clarity would be hard- The AVC is a gorgeous stone as well- but the I1 was not sitting with me even though the inclusion is very hard to see..the facets on my antique cushion are just gorgeous- sprinting off in the different lights and the color is perfect!
My soon to be antique cushion stone came to me and I am so happy! I am definite this is the one! - She is holding it for me right now! Thank you ladies for encouraging me to look around and contact JBEG- Grace was wonderful- when she took that baby out I could definitely see it's chunky glory from afar and so pretty on my hand- Oh so beautiful and alive! Now I know what you all mean when a stone is alive!
I will be sharing pics as soon as I settle the transaction!- I am going to move sooooo fast it's not even funny. I really want that baby on my finger ASAP.

Yayyyy!!! I'm so glad you got that slap in your face!!! Can't wait to see it!! Hooray!

Yay!
I have my antique cushion in my hands now!
I LOVE her!
She is just gorgeous....prismatic ...facety....pouffy....love her little facets bounce...I tried taking pics in the morning...but had to run off and go do taxes!
The ones I did take look blurry...will try in a bit!

Ok... I am posting some shots of my acc ... This is the stone that made me go for antique cushions and as beautiful as avc's are this is THE one! I am not a photographer... But tried my best...she actually looks lovelier IRL... My favorite time is in the morning and sunset lighting... But she goes crazy in the bathroom with those lights... My bf and son think I am crazy taking glamour shots everywhere...

Beautiful!

Welcome to PS and the Blingside. You shall see that people take glamour bling shots wherever! Elevator, restaurant, park, etc.

Another glamour shot afternoon!
I took her to the beach today as we just lied around enjoying spring break ending....everyone was doing their own thing----My son digging holes, my bf sleeping and me well ....taking more glamour shots of course!.....She sparkled and glowed like no other!!
I love her so much---she was picking up the ocean blue and sky----and other cool colors you will see...as the sunset she got even more beautiful.
Enjoy fellow PSers!
I am definitely love antique cushions! And will be looking for pendants and earrings after I set my ring.I love the kozibe rainbow facets that just glow and are gorgeous!

That is one hubba hubba chunky stone!!!! I know what you mean about the crazy awesome flashes. Forgive me if you already mentioned, but what are your setting plans for this baby?

Beautiful stone! I love your sunset pics. Congrats on finding the one!

@Pandabee.... She is champing...chunky and cushiony...will such pretty facets...can't stop breaking out with her all over the place!
Today I took her to the beach again just to enjoy...then to a restaurant near a window...all over....
I am debating on setting...I have some ideas but may need help....I have several ideas...so any input is great...I have so many things in my head that I need help sorting...I want simple but there are elements of different rings that I love...
Here are a few...basically she will go in a yellow gold setting...I am a yellow gold at heart and my man is part Italian and insists as well...we want something classic but different too...these are things I like and am debating on them all...I have had quotes to put all these elements together but part of me needs some feedback on whether it is "too much"... So any honest input is greatly appreciated....I want something that is soft and timeless in yellow gold....

I love this Single stone setting...I saw this one in person with an acc and loved the pear sides with the 2 rounds...the actual SS setting I saw had the pear shaped sides milgrained...so loved that...
http://www.singlestone.com/index.php?page=collections&catID=21&startRow=29

Another element I adore is the jbeg Julia ....the side swooping in curves and the diamonds around the basket...it makes it look so regal...still debating the surprise stones on the side but am thinking they would have my son and bf's stones...it's very appropriate they say. This is the side view
http://jewelsbyericagrace.smugmug.com/SignatureSettingsPortfolio/Plain-and-Pave-Solitaires/The-Julia-Surprise-Solitaire/14113210_Xzk22B#!i=1040273172&k=XdPsRx6

Then another thing I am debating is the subtle halo of the tacori 2620...I am not sure if this is putting it over the edge but this is the ring that is making me go hmmm...I also saw it in person and thought hmmm...I wonder....here is novicediamonds avc in this setting...
https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/my-m-is-here-avc-discoball-in-tacori-halo-pic-heavy.178047/
Now I keep imagining the contrast like this oval in a tacori 2620 rose gold....I have thought about rose gold...but no..I feel yellow gold is more me....as beautiful as it may be ...I wear yellow gold everywhere...but this is the contrast that is just gorgeous and I love
http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_lKKURtE_PI

I have asked my jeweler who I trust and he says it is is just subtle enough highlighting the center diamond....but just need all of your feedback...

What do you think pandabee? And all other PSers?
I want this baby on my ring without the stone holder and in a setting so am determined to make this go forth....
I also want my ACC to perform max and be highlighted...should light enter from below more? Or be enclosed more? Just curious...what would be the best setting for an ACC to highlight its beauty...I want it to look like the the pics on the beach and do not want to lose that!
Any guidance is appreciated from all!

I am a Virgo so can dwell on details like this like crazy!

Thank you summerlove...I love taking her to the beach ..the blue skies and ocean are just gorgeous in her....

I am self-admittedly a big 2620 fan, and I think I have yet to see it in yellow gold with a plain shank but I think that would be absolutely beautiful. I think the Single Stone setting would be a great setting as well, would you consider having the sidestones be representing the birthstones of your son and bf? Are you more of a halo (although it's not as distinct as most halos) or a sidestone gal?

Actually , I don't even consider myself either!? If that makes any sense?
I think I am more of a solitaire kind. But can't resist the 2620 subtle halo that is slight....I actually do not really like halos much and never considered it but the 2620 just is so slight while adding size and contrast? Does that make sense? The side pear shaped rounds are so slight...I was thinking pave but went against that since I wanted the yellow gold contrast against the center...and when I saw the SS with the side pear shaped trim in the rose gold it was so slight...like a plain shank but with a surprise pear shape and tiny rounds? But is it too much? I am getting CAdS to see better but my problem is seeing it in my mind without seeing it IRL....I hope the cads help? Would the trim basket like the jbeg Julia be too much?
This has been a point of fixation for me for a while...so bouncing off another helps...my BF agrees with what I like and my eye, but admittedly says he is "not into ladies stuff"... And most of my friends are married and over the ring if that makes sense...they also are into more white gold and lots of sparkle and pave...which is beautiful but not me? I need some serious intervention here... ;(
Actually I am not that sad and am proud of myself in finding my stone.

I like the Tacori 2620! Found a picture of it in yellow gold online. Not sure if you have seen it? http://www.solomonbrothers.com/JewelryDetail.aspx?ProductId=5520426

Love your stone. So beautiful! Hope you will find a beautiful setting for it soon!

Thank you Lunemo! I hope I settle soon too. I love my stone too! I will share once it is set....
I love the Tacori 2620 too. To find it in yellow gold as an actual pic is so difficult! And when I go to the dealers they all say it has to be custom ordered. I saw the solomon brothers- just want an "actual" pic- you know what I mean? This was the one I was going to get for sure until I saw the SS one....then I became confused ... :loopy:
