looking for a plain domed band - comfort fit - 5mm band in 19kt White Gold - I like the idea that it remains white without the plating issue - and not sure I would like the patina of Platinum - so want to investigate this - but google searches have turned up nothing - thanks for inputs

I''m not sure it will stay white without having it replated. I know there are some PS members who don''t need their ring plated very often but I think most will need it done at some point.

Have you read this? - Its very interesting....

I think you can find the wedding ring you are looking for from most vendors but I wouldn''t think you can get one that will stay white forever.

You are on the right track, in spite of common misinformation that you may read in the forums.
19 karat white gold stays white, without rhodium, and it''s way harder than platinum.
Internet vendors'' suppliers/producers don''t generally use it. Scott Kay put out a line of 19 karat finished jewellery that is still rhodium plated because the alloy mixture they use isn''t the same as the one as I am familiar with.

It''s not the number 19 that is so important, but the other 5 parts that are so critical. The proprietary alloy confuration in the 19 karat gold that I use makes for very durable, forever-white jewellery.

I always thought that anything over 9kt started to get softer not harder.......I have honestly never heard of a white gold that doesn''t need replating.

You learn something new every day
