I was looking to get my wife some diamond hoops earrings for our anniversary. I wanted to get some 1 1/2 in hoops. I looked at BN and Facets and they are similar however the quality in the facets collection seems better for the money. Being a novice on these things does anyone have any suggestions for me on the best way to get the best quality at the best prices? Thanks so much in advance, John

can you post a link/pic of the style you are looking at? And a ballpark budget? Then it would be easier to help you with some other alternatives. Thanks!

I love 1.5" hoops! I haven't bought them yet (though several people here have) but ID jewelery has good prices on a huge selection of hoops. They have both a website and ebay store and the prices are slightly less in the ebay store but smaller selection. I'm irritated they don't publish the hoop dimensions on their website so you'd have to contact them. Facets probably is better quality than BN. The stuff people have posted here from ID has been excellent quality.

I looked at the idjewlery you gave me and the prices seem so much lower, is it lesser quality? BN shows the h/si for 3900 where the idjewlery has the same size f/g/si for 1900 or so. Doesn't seem right to me?? Thanks for you help! John

IDJ's prices are very reasonable. Few PScopers have bought jewelry from them and their F/G, SI1 stones appear to be really sparkly. Here are two threads on IDJ's hoops (although these are not like the pair you're looking to buy, these are huggies) just to see actual photos.

kelpie, thanks for reminding me ID has an Ebay store, I always forget. And it also drives me nuts they don't put dimensions on their hoop sizes. Those are so important when deciding.
