When do you NOT wear your diamond engagement ring?

I don''t wear my ring while:
Sleeping
In the shower
Cooking
Working out
Traveling (if I''m going to be doing active stuff)
Swimming/hot tubbing
Doing crafts of any kind
When I teach, days that I''ll be messing with chalk boards

Basically, if something can get in/on my ring or there''s any potential it can get lost, I wear a plain band instead. I started doing this after I was married though - when I was engaged, I never took my ring off, pretty much ever.

I almost always take off all my jewelery when I get home. My rings get placed in the cushiony boxes so I know where they are. I can''t stand to sleep in jewelery! The last thing I put on when I''m getting ready in the morning is my rings.

Unless I don''t feel like it would be safe to do so, I have gotten in the habit of taking my rings off whenever I wash my hands or apply lotion. They are so much easier to keep clean when they aren''t coated with soap or greasy residue! I also never wear my diamond in the pool, to the beach, to do housework, or to work in the yard.
