What's your holy grail, Moby Dick, the one you're always looking for?

I want a natural brown Asscher cut diamond, 1..0 to 1.50 ct. Not too dark, prefer orangey to champagne tones. Don't care about clarity, just a nice cut. Preferably from a vendor I like.

Thank you, I almost bought that last night - he had it way underpriced on etsy. I reached out to him and he corrected the error immediately. I like that one, he's a step-cut lover and his stones are lovely.

It looked nice to me which is why I linked it! Hopefully you get your white whale soon :)

Mine would be a 5 ct + vivid pad with no brown. On the occasion I come across the right color they are usually much smaller and still out of my price range.:( But that definitely is my dream stone.

Heated or untreated Mrs Strizzle?

The heat question eats away at me (only in terms of gems, it’s not that drastic taking all aspects of life into account :lol-2:)

Yeah, what the heck. As long as I'm dreaming then unheated is ideal and also tested to be sure it doesn't fade in light (I forget what they call that test.) That said, if I ever see another one like this I'm pulling the trigger regardless of heat. When this one was available there simply was no way.Screenshot_20230730-112559.png

Oh my goodness! How much did they want for that if you don’t mind sharing.

It's been awhile, maybe 2 years so I don't remember exactly. I think it was 21k which I felt at the time was a good fair price already set in a ring I really liked. I just couldn't scrape the cash up in the moment and was heartbroken.

I saw this

I'm looking for a lavender, lilac, purple, or violet stone in a cut with larger face/less depth, for a ring. I would prefer an oval or cushion shape, and I'm not too worried about gem type (sapphire, spinel, some forms of garnet..).

basically, like this but oval. It's a starbright cut sapphire from John Dyer
