Its that time again! I figured it''s been a while since the last time we''ve posted our "I WANT IT!" gemstone lists, plus we''ve had a lot of newcomers, so lets see what everyone is wanting right now!

Here''s mine:

-Big 4-5ct Swiss Blue Topaz asscher from Barry (9-10mm)
-2-3ct OEC/OMC/Trans diamond of a really low color (M or lower, but the lower the better)
-Apple green peridot (Maybe the minty one will hold me over for a while?)
-Cobalt blue sapphire or spinel...Preferably round and precision cut
-Merelani mint garnet
-any periwinkle spinels I can find (and afford!)

Formerly on the list, and taken off because I got them (or are in the process of getting them):

--2-3ct hot pink spinel (MAYBE a sapphire) cushion
--A blue green tourmaline that about the color of my eyes
--A bandaid-ish colored stone (diamond, tourmaline, spinel, sapphire) that almost blends in with rose gold

Of course a vanadium chrysoberyl since I saw on on the show.

- A nice hayune
- A cobalt spinel
- Any bright spinel, do not even mind a red-orange although red would be the best
- Never heard about periwinkle spinel but it may be an idea
- Another sapphire

- I really do not know about Paraibas...there has been a lot of talks about them on the PS but since I never saw the one I would really like IRL...
- I have a very minty and neon tourmaline (although with a window), just need to find out where it comes from and, consequently, cross it off my list

- an opposed bar cut tourmaline, just like MTG has...

Oh yes, and an affordable jeweler

A greenish yellow chrysoberyl is high on my list.
Another screaming orange spessarite of at least 3 ct
More spinels as always (blue, red, pink, purple, etc)
Still looking for the right emerald or ruby for my other antique setting
A 4 to 5 ct tsavorite
Others are all open to if I should happen to see anything I like.

I'm always looking for the right:

-demantoid
-OMC or OEC diamond

Lately I've been thinking about getting another emerald and I'm always looking at rubies and sapphires. A spinel would be nice too.

ETA: I'd really like a nice opal.

Nothing!

I''m not hankering for anything at the moment. If I see something that jumps out at me, I may be tempted but otherwise I need to concentrate on buying settings and having things made!

I''m slowly putting together a more extensive list which includes:

Asscher cuts - Specifically tanzanite but also others if I can find good ones
A Larger Tanzsanite Cushion Cut
I want to get some pretty opals for myself for a set
Something Pink
Something in mint/ocean greens
I lost my step cut smoky quartz so I want to find another that I like
Moonstone
More Swiss Blue Topaz

I just got 5 amethysts, all larger, including a very large trillian, another close to five carats, a longer oval that I''m going to make into a vintage inspired ring, a smaller oval, and an emerald cut that I will make into a pendant.

-Seafoam green tourmaline - still on the list because I don''t have it yet, but one was purchased yesterday and is on the way!
11.gif

-Opposed bar cut stone (doesn''t really matter what variety, as long as it''s cheap)
-Natural blue diamond (ha!)
-Colorless diamond with strong blue fluor
-Merelani mint garnet with more blue than yellow tones (all of my "minty" stones are probably too yellowish to be called minty)
-Vanadium chrysoberyl

The last few are probably unattainable for me since I tend to stick to stones under $200, but one can hope!

My wishlist off the top of my head

4ct spessartite. I have one in mind already
2.gif

2-4ct tsavorite. I really do want a bigger one. Nothing in mind at the moment
2-4ct purple sapphire. One in mind already
2.gif

3-4ct Mahenge Spinel. Will take one from Burma too...lol
a vanadium chrysoberyl . I blame loving diamonds for starting that fetish...lol
a decent sized cobalt spinel. It just has to be lighter than the one I have
10ct peridot, the greener the better.
6ct deep blue zircon. Found one,
9.gif
haven''t bought it yet but will probably buy in the next few
2.gif

purple scapolite. I know I know, they''re soft. I still like them though.
A big a$$ rubellite. LOL
A big green zircon. Green, no brown, slight blue, mint colored. They do exist but they''re costly.
a much bigger star sapphire. I don''t know, 15-20cts maybe? I don''t really care what color as long as I like it and its affordable. Though it must be transparent at the very least.

There''s a lot more on my list (yeah go figure huh?? lol)

Hi Ladies. Newbie here, I started out on the Ladies in Waiting forum and have ventured over here to take my mind off waiting. I''ve always loved colored stones (i blame my mother for that). I was obsessed with Tanzanite for a while and have many pieces. Then I moved on to pink sapphires. I''ll have to start a thread with that collection. But my wish list:

Pink Tourmaline: this one is on it''s way from Barry, it''s a pinkish-lavender 3.03ct "octagonal step cut". Don''t know how i''ll set it yet.....
Pinkish "unique" Sapphire in a Cushion, size depending on what i can afford at the time
Yellow Sapphire (with very strong color) in an Asscher- i think i''ll have to special order this
Aquamarine- I''d like an Asscher and Peter currently has one..........
White Sapphire, either Cushion or Asscher, that i can halo with colored sapphires, but this would be a very long way out project

The list is heavy on Asschers, but that''s what i wanted for my e-ring, but because of price settled on Cushion. So now i''ll just get an Asscher in every color of the rainbow!

---An Asscher or Square Emerald cut, maybe one of each!

---A Roval!

---Chrysoberyl in yellow or a Sapphire in Yellow to work on ROY G BIV

---Chrysoberyl, Vandium

---A pair of matched purple stones I'm thinking Sapphire to wear with my Amy ring. Or maybe Amy since that'd be easier to find but the ring is pre PS and my Amy would look different now!

---A pair of matched Spess for earrings...may be a long wait since they need to coordinate with the Spess I have in a ring.

Lately I've been reading the Royal Jewels thread so that could really add to my wish list, not that anything I've seen there is attainable for me!!

ETA: Didn't realize we were talking white stones too!

---An OEC!!!

--- Some White Zircons

---I want to see some small white Sapphires

Oh and a gray diamond. Any size/shape.

I''m on the fence/in between projects right now...but here''s what I am mulling over:

Pad or peachy pink spinel just the right shade to set in rose gold
asscher cut something (maybe spess?)
CBTY bracelet with chunky faceted gems in medium shades, probably mostly spinel....)

But, right now I am saving b/c I think I want to make a version of an eternity band I saw, and I can incorporate small pads into it which might be just enough for me:)

HOW mistral earrings, I love that light amytheste and don''t even care that it''s heated:) I just can''t justify the price right now...

Since I have so many colored stones without settings, I am holding on buying any new ones for a bit. I still have my condo in SD which is taking a lot of my pay check. Hoping to put it on the market next month, once I sell that, I might think about collecting again. Right now, I am happy with what I got (is that possible?).

In the future (I am guessing pretty far in the future) I would love to have

- an emerald (or maybe a large tsavorite? I already have 3
11.gif
)
- a ruby
- a neon tourmaline
- a strand of Tahitian pearls

As for my current gemstones here are my future projects in order of priority
- set my spessertite (I am thinking high ct gold pendant now, I can't make up my mind on this stone)
- set the hot pink spinel (halo ring?)
- reset the sapphire

Than I have a bunch of small stones that need to be set, I will probably send them to Sally at HOW. Those will probably get done first because they don't cost nearly as much.

Well, listing what I really want, as in intend to buy if I find, is tough because I''m a cheapskate when it comes to buying for myself. I don''t like spending over $100.00 for a stone (with occasional exceptions), so I tend to buy small examples of expensive varieties as well as waiting for bargains. I''ll spend more for "business" stones, but I don''t keep them ;-)

Neon pink Mahenge spinel (small so that I can afford it!)
A nice vivid orange Lolilindo spessartite (this may be coming off the list when a stone I just bought arrives).
A 5 or 6mm round brilliant light to medium blue sapphire, precision cut or excellent commercial cutting.
A blue and white color zoned sapphire, any size and shape that I fall for and can afford.
A 4 to 5mm round vivid yellow sapphire.
Any and all Tsavorites I can afford - small but beautiful is okay by me. Also, at least one Merlani mint.
A round or trillion rich imperial topaz, would consider the right oval.
Anything teal. Apatite, tourmaline, zircon....if it''s teal I''m apt to buy it.

Lets see. I like small stones. I love delicate, ornate settings and small stones not only fit better but leave more money for the setting.

Always nice opals. I prefer blue and black with red and green flashes. I love good crystal or jelly opals the best, especially with purple flashes. Currently, I am dying for this baby http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180504687988&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT. I am not totally convinced it is real, but they do get jelly opals out of the mines near Dolores in central MX.

I really want an alexandrite. I want really good color change from green to pink or purple, so I would get one with a fairly pale coloration in both, which is fine. I really love any color change stone and if a good garnet became available, I would certainly be happy with it, but the blue/green is so often really dark in them.

I want a tourmaline with paraba coloring even if it is not a true paraba. I think I would like either a fancy shape or an unusual cut for it too. 2 or 3 would be better so I could do sort of an organic setting with those as the leaves.
I am also looking at getting a triangular amethyst or tanzanite. I would want to put it in a gold setting that was sort of Celtic looking. I like the ones with the either slightly redder color or with true flashes of blue. Most I find have a grayness I don''t love.

Tsavorite or dementoids. Greens are my favorite, so I would always be happy to snap up some of these. I like both the saturated and the paler ones, but I prefer the ones that are less yellow.

I think I could do some fun things with rhodolite or zicrons, lots of little ones in sort of a whimsical setting.
