I haven''t had much time to think about gems but.... if I had to make a quick list I''d say a green tourmaline, a deep purple amethyst, anything pink, and I''ve always wanted a yellow sapphire.

Unheated Burma ruby of top gem color and clarity of 6 carats, and it has to be an elongated cushion like the Graff ruby.
5+ carat fancy vivid GIA graded green diamond.

Okay, I can dream about what I want on my short list!!

I saw a 2 ct vivid GIA green diamond with florescence the other day. A jeweller that was setting my stone showed me (that tiny pink spinel setting). He was so excited about it and was telling me how rare it was. His wife was begging for it but he said no .. it was for his collection. Stone was not for sale but he enjoyed showing it off and insisted in taking it out and showing me.

Is it true that colored diamonds are better with florescence?

Wow, I''m so envious of your jeweler, and if I were his wife, he wouldn''t have a choice!!

That stone would be MINE!!

Not all colored diamonds are better with fluorescence. For example, my pink champagne fluoresces blue, and in the sunlight, it kind of washes out the color. However, have you ever seen StepCutNut''s yellow diamond that fluoresces a very strong green - looks like it''s radioactive!! I LOVE IT!! In other words, sometimes fluorescence can enhance the color of a diamond, and sometimes it can work against the color. For example, a yellow diamond with strong yellow fluorescence is a good thing for obvious reasons. A yellow diamond with strong blue fluorescence, not so good.

I am going to have to say anyting pink in an emerald or princess cut. I would just love a pink gemstone solitarire ring right now. I would also like an aquamarine. it''s pretty hard to narrow down exactly what I want after seeing all the beautiful stones that people have on here.
