I am planning to reset my 1 carat round into a channel set princess setting with a matching band.
I do not like the the look of a dainty ring on my finger....I like a little substance.
However I am guessing that with a 1 carat round I need to be careful not to go too wide and drown out the stone.
What would be the ideal width of the setting and matching band?
I would love to see some real life photos of sets like this too!!!
Thanks!!!!

Hospatogi and Miss Debby have 1 ct-ish stones with channel set bands. Is this the look you want for your ring?
Hospatogi wears hers with a band, while Miss Debby wears hers standalone I believe.

I am not sure what the width of their bands, probably around 2 mm.

Hello, my 1.7ct was previously set in a setting somewhat similar to the one you are describing, except that the melee stones are RB and pavé-set rather than channel-set. I'm attaching several pictures, so you can see the setting from different angles and distances. If the pictures of my previous setting match what you are picturing for your diamond, then the band width you should be aiming for is ~2.4mm.

This is how I got to that number:
- My 1.7ct is 7.66mm in diameter, previously set in a 2.8mm band (with 1.6mm melee pave stones)
- Assuming your 1ct is 6.5mm... then to keep the proportions identical, 6.5mm x 2.8mm / 7.66mm = 2.38mm

Even if my previous band isn't exactly what you were actually envisioning in terms of proportions, this calculation should hopefully help you decide if you want thinner or thicker than 2.4mm. For reference, my finger is a size 4.75-5.

Hope this helps!
