What size is your finger?

The reason I am asking is that it would not be too big for my size US 11.5-12 left hand middle finger.

No pendant, no problem.

How about:
- setting it in a bangle on its own, at 45deg?
- setting it in a pin brooch, on its own, or perhaps with another CS at the other end?
- setting it in the centre of an Art Deco inspired bar brooch ?

Just a few ideas.

DK :))

6.5 ring size
I am not a broach or pin wearer
I am afraid the weight would make a bracelet/bangle spin around
all great ideas though

Oh!
there was a 10mm+ amethyst cushion set in rose gold a few years ago (still kick myself for not buying it when it was for sale) and I think it was an under size 5 ring.
not to big a stone on her at all

how about a brooch?

You wouldn’t still happen to have that leftover rough?

If the bangle is made in an oval shape and hinged, then it should minimise spinning.

Yeah, IMHO the 9mm depth of the stone is the biggest challenge to setting this Amethyst ... super beautiful color and cut though

It's definitely deep, In person it's a beautiful velvety color the pics don't do it justice.

It is pretty deep, but I don’t think a ring is out of the question. In fact, there are a ton of huge amethyst rings out there. I think it depends on what you’re comfortable with. Big and bold rings aren’t for everyone, but you should know it’s very easy to fall in love with all that finger coverage.

I think it just needs the right transition on the sides so it doesn’t look overwhelming. I’m adding a couple pics, along with website provided measurements when available.

This is a 5ct amethyst (11x9mm)

I’d still go for a ring if I were you. It’s large but I don’t think it’s too big for a ring.

This all the way! I look for a long dimension of 10+ mm, if possible. Most of my ring-wearable fingers range are size 7 - 8-ish.

Do you know the depth below the table? I have not done much more than 6mm.

ETA: and amethyst is supposed to be chunky as @elle_71125 points out above!

Rose gold would be amazing with that deep purple!
