....do you have in mind? Have you started to look? Is there something you definitely want or don't want?

Post pictures of dresses you're considering :)

I have some I'm considering...just have to go try them on!

I am definitely thinking of a fit and flare dress. I do not like the puffy look, the tighter tops helps the ladies to look thin, and the gradual flare just looks soft and elegant.. I will have to post some pictures of the ones I am considering.

Definitely mermaid/trumpet and maybe a simple A-line. Definitely NOT a big poofy ballgown and nothing that makes me look like I'm wearing a tulle marshmallow!

I like the Maggie Sottero Amara Royale (in white) as well as the 'kock off' version from Alfred Angelo.

Mashira, I love the fact that it is so different :) I personally would look like a fool in that haha.. That's why I went more simple

Our tastes are alike - I think that both of these dresses are absolutely beautiful, especially the 2nd one. I am definitely looking to wear something very similar. :)

Monique Lhuillier "Monet." But I think I would change it to a sweetheart neckline.

Thanks nicoleben and Vanilla! I love the dramatic look of them. I also like your picks, nicole!

I'm working on my figure (5'4 122lbs now), but I do naturally have a very defined hourglass, so I figured why not show it off?! My only big no-no for wedding gowns is cleavage. I don't find cleavage classy/elegant IMHO.

Dawnabee I LOVE your first and last choices!

Out of curiosity, how come you're working on your figure? Being 5'4 and 122 is in the normal body weight range for that height..

Autumn, I used to weigh around 220lbs five years ago. Through diet and exercise I have gotten down to 122lbs. I suppose because my weight loss happened rather quickly at first, I was left with a lot of 'skin flab' around my belly, inner thighs, and backs of arms.

Because I am young, I can still tighten up the flab a bit and that is what I am working on. If the gown I choose is satin, an inner corset would be visible, or with no corset that excess skin bulge would be visible so I am working on that. I would also like to tighten up my arms so I don't have the pouch of flab over the top of the dress near the back and sides of the armpits.

So no worries, I'm not being unhealthy if that was what you were thinking!

Ahhh, Ok...understood. So you're basically working on toning your body up. I got worried and thought you were looking to shed more weight :errrr:

Congratulations on the weight loss, what a fantastic accomplishment!

Yup yup, I'm just looking to tone and maintain. Being in college means that during finals I tend to do a yo-yo where I will gain or lose about 10lbs so I'm not looking forward to that come December (graduation!). I just want to make sure I maintain this weight up until the wedding, and maybe even put on a bit of muscle if possible.

Thank you!! I am very proud of getting here considering where I started! :halo:

Thanks Mashira, I'm absolutely in love with it. My FF and I were looking for a comprise between something lace and something silk and we finally found it. Can't wait to try it on. It is by Paloma Blanca

And are you trying on dresses before being engaged?! Hmmm, I need to pull that off as well :Up_to_something:.

I am. My FF asked for my fathers blessing over the weekend and right now we are in full planning mode :D Since the wedding is in about 5 months, Jan 1st we don't have a lot of time to get everything done. My FF doesn't want to propose without the ring which we are purchasing in about a week and half and should take a few days-a week before it is ready to pick up. Its weird because I feel like I'm officially engaged even thought I'm not quite but I know its coming soon.

Autumn-Absolutely gorgeous dress. I love that it is one sided.
