I think a halo makes a ring "about the whole piece" and not just about the center stone. Not that there's anything wrong with non-halo'd stones! It just changes what it is all about for me.
Solitsires are not for me unless they are bezel set with a thick shank at least 4mm at the top.Halos are in style now but I'm a solitaire man. A classic solitaire will always be in style.
I so agree with this, when I went from a solitaire (I do love simplicity but got bored) to a halo, the responses I got was “before it was just a rock and now it’s a finished piece of work.”I think a halo makes a ring "about the whole piece" and not just about the center stone. Not that there's anything wrong with non-halo'd stones! It just changes what it is all about for me.
I joined PS years ago and had never seen a halo ring before (I live in England). Lots of Princess Diana style rings but nothing like I've seen here. I couldn't wait to get one. I like them for the finger coverage and the sparkle! I wore mine for a short time before I realised I actually wanted a solitaire instead. Then I wanted something else and then something else and so on and so on....![]()
