What have your bought yourself lately?

Maisie- Your kitchen looks amazing!!! I love it!!
LaurenTP- Love the new rings!

We finally bought a new air conditioner for our bedroom yesterday. Our old one still worked, but it was fifteen years old, as noisey as all get out and it started to spit water into the room, and since I sleep on that side of the bed..... ughhh!

And I bought myself a cute outfit to go out to dinner in when I''m feeling better. A pair of Jones black sateen ankle length pants, with a snug fitting floral 3/4 sleeve sweater with tiny little pinky coral sequins and a matching little coral stretch tank for underneath. Very cute!

Dark red spinel with diamonds in 14kwg. This ring makes me smile. :)

Such a fun thread!
DH and I went to a Crate and Barrel Outlet store yesterday to look for a media console.
We found this: http://www.crateandbarrel.com/family.aspx?c=1152&f=14824
Retails for $1700 and we paid around $400 including tax.
The sliding door needs to be fixed and there are some dings that will need to be filled. Worth it in my opinion.

I am trying to buy a new jacket. As sun protection, I always wear my jacket and it is truly falling apart. Finding one that is lightweight so I don''t overheat, has long sleeves to protect my arms and isn''t designed to be grungy has been an insurmountable challenge.

Its funny, I rarely buy things for myself, but a number of my things needed replacing at the same time.

Brazen, have you checked out www.coolibar.com? This company has great sun protection clothing, accessories and advice.

Tigian, great find. I love the Crate and Barrel Outlets, just about everything we have for the house comes from the outlet.

My husband is handy so we bring it home and fix it, but most of the stuff is in very good condition. Recently we picked up a sectional sofa in great condition for a few hundred dollars.

Back the the thread-- so my most recent little purchase is a lucite chair and a kwanzan cherry tree.

for almost 4 months, nothing!! too busy with baby--bottles and diapers were the extent of my purchases.

but going back to work has galvanized a bunch of 'oh my gosh i have to do this'...

so i FINALLY got us a dining table and chairs after literally 2+ years of hemming and hawing on the purchase. and even better, after all is said and done, the whole thing was only $400 and looks expensive, amazing and I LOVE IT. part of why it's been so paralzying to make a decision was 'will it come out right', 'will it look right', 'its so expensive...what if we don't love it'.. ETC ETC. but i came across a few great deals and couldn't resist, and it seats 10-12 and it can take a beating by the kid and just be restained, bonus.

and i also finally got a clutch to hold my key, iphone and all my cc's etc which i just toss into the diaper bag or work bag or whatever, at nordstrom rack and a new pair of kate spade sunglasses, and work clothes. also from NR. i love that place!

tigian, the CBO is great..! my previous dining set came from there almost 10 years ago and was like $300! great find!

Haven''t bought anything lately - I''m saving all my pennies for FI''s wedding gift (I want to get him a home gym! Though I''ll give him a cheque and let him pick his own.)

I''m going to get myself something small for my birthday tomorrow

I want some republic of tea leaves

Lauren -- I LOVE your rings. They're gorgeous!

ETA: Happy birthday Yssie! Have a great day tomorrow!

Thanks Zoe! 24-I'm officially entering my mid-twenties

Okay, as much as I love my new ipod, typing on it is a pain in the arse! It''s fun to see what everyone has done for themselves lately. And if you haven''t - you totally should!

I bought a bunch of stuff yesterday... a bronze dragon that stands on its front legs and a couple terracotta warrior/archer dudes and four seasonal chinese paintings and another one of a dragon, I bought a jade stamp with a dragon that says my name in english and my chinese name, I bought a trio of stone flutes, a gyroscopic incense ball, a cloisonne christmas tree ball, a four faces of buddah thing, some turtle stamps that all fit inside one another, and that''s it lol

I was mostly, giving. Lots of gifts to my friends - May appeared to be unusually rich in birthdays. Bought a nice ring with tsavorite but it is already posted in CS.

And. oh, we badly need to buy a new refrigerator! Ours is short-cirtuiting. Hooray! My husband was telling me it made no sense to spend money on a new one since this one was working. Now, after 10 years of life, this one has become dangerous. So, hopefully, we are off to Crossroads Appliances coming Wednesday.

And I also plan to buy a new computer, but it is a smaller problem.

I bought a few shorts and three shirts yesterday. I tried to put on shorts last week and none them fit, or rather they fit, but I had muffin top and camel toe (LOL, but not really!).

I quickly thought, what should I do, lose weight by next week when it will get really hot, or just by new shorts, so I bought new shorts.

They had a sale at New York and Co. and I bought five or six boyfriend shorts. 1/2 off (so $15 instead of $30) and all different colors. I feel better now.

Also stopped by Macy''s and bought that oscillating mascara by Lancome and a new lipstick. BTW, if you spend $32.50 at the Lancome counter, you get a free gift and a cute summery bag.

Maisie - so sorry I just came back to this! Unfortunately the bikini tops I can''t find an image of, as they are in colors not in the image. They are a basic halter top from Victoria Secret. They were 7 dollars each. One is hot pink and the other is a white leopard print with various bright colors highlighting random spots of the leopard print. It''s cute!

The shoes are in the Shoes thread in shopping! But here they are again

I've been trying really hard not to spend money since I'm unemployed and I want to save every penny of my unemployment checks. However, I was in LA last month visiting my best friend and she *forced* me to do some shopping
3.gif
I got a pair of shorts (I have only one other pair of shorts that aren't workout clothes), a tshirt with ruffles, a scarf, and an awesome cover-up for wearing over a swimsuit. It's cotton knit material, kind of an open weave sweater, with long sleeves and a hood. I don't go to the beach often, so I like that it can be worn as a cute stylish sweater anytime.

We're planning a small re-model of the bathroom (new shower curtain, bath mat, etc) so I'm excited to do some shopping for that. And it also reminded me of the other house items I've been putting off buying (new pillows for the couch, better hand towels, a new kitchen trashcan).

Oh, and DH and I recently purchased Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Red Dead Redemption. Yay for new video games! Those are things we'll play together, so they're not necessarily purchases for me.

So here is the little chair I bought for the closet... I am loving it...

Gardengloves-swoon! I love it all-your closet, your chair and your organizational habits.

I just saw you responded to me on the talk thread. I can''t believe you have two of those chairs. The armed chair is my favorite but I love that way the armless looks in your closet, probably makes it easier to sit and put shoes on etc. One day I will have one, but til then, I''ll just love all over yours if that''s ok with you!

I bought myself a baby hamster and a biOrb for my African Dwarf frogs. I won''t put pics of my hamster because it might scare some people, but trust me, she''s a cutie!

I just got a Fleurville Mothership designer diaper bag. I felt a little guilty getting it, because I already had a fancy Timi & Leslie bag that I used for my first kid, but now that I''m toting crap around for two kids (and myself) I really needed the enormous, yet still fashionable, Mothership.

It''s not so bad, though, since I got it on sale - I paid $109 reduced from $149.

I haven''t really bought myself anything lately
15.gif
Although, I did pick up a few (unexciting) pieces at Old Navy the other day (they had an additional 50% off clearance).

I''m having shopping withdrawals ..

I bought a house!!!

Oh, and a few new shinies!

I finally broke down and bought this swimsuit I''d been admiring for awhile. It''s so flattering on - the first swimsuit I''ve ever owned that I haven''t immediately wanted to cover-up! And I found a dress for my rehearsal dinner - it has kitties on it!
