What have your bought yourself lately?

I just bought a new book. It''s called "Look Again" by Lisa Scottoline, an author whose other books I really enjoy. I''m not too far into this one but it''s really good so far. Other than that, I bought a new laptop and a pair of shoes recently. I go through phases with shopping. Sometimes I can''t stand to do it and other times I really like to treat myself.

Maisie, I am soooo getting one of those aprons! I bought a red KitchenAid mixer, and I''m loving turquoise + red lately! That apron is perfect!

I just had my asscher tourmaline set.

And I finally bought a Tsavorite that I love and had it set in a Jewelryhoo setting.

Oooooh Lauren!! I opened your post and my jaw dropped! You have such beautiful jewellery!!

I''m glad you like that apron. Its very 50''s housewife. Show me a pic of your mixer!!

Maisie, I love the table runner you bought, and I LOVE the beadboard paper. I never knew such a thing existed. I''m a huge fan of beadboard, and that looks really nice. I love how your room is shaping up, and the prints on the wall are beautiful.

I hardly ever buy myself anything. Its usually for the kids or the house. I should treat myself more.

The bead board paper is fab. Its thick enough to cover uneven walls but papery enough to be easy to put up. I''m not the worlds best decorator so anything thats easy gets my vote!

I just got some lovely lavender bath soaps from Marshall's. For those not in the US, it's a retailer that sells name brand items for less than department stores, so they were well-priced too. I have a hard time buying anything, otherwise.

Oh, and just bought a pair of maternity capris. Tee-hee!!! My first maternity purchase!!!!!!!!!!

LTP, You have the nicest rings!!! I am endlessly impressed by your growing collection!!! WOW!

Maise, I love your light fixture too! Thanks for starting this thread. It's a great idea!

Casablanca, Glad you enjoyed your onion rings. Haha. You are one of my favorite PS-ers! Just had to tell ya.

You are one of many favorites here, I must say, anyway, I love your sense of humor, and find your more recent humor-disclaimers too funny!

I got my stones from Michael E a couple weeks ago. Vinca vines and hanging baskets for the backyard yesterday, and a silverware organizer. I''m thinking I want the Clarisonic tho, so I might have to finally break down and grab it.

I just won this on Ebay! £62!!

That''s gorgeous! What a bargain!!

The last thing that I bought was the epilator (which I really like!). Next will be this gorgeous cherry dress that I''ve been after for ages!

Epilator = pain! But I would still give it another go if it would work. I tried one years ago and ended up in tears.

try it again. It really does work and even DH noticed today that there was less cursing/screaming ouch when I used it. The ice one is really nice as it cools your leg as you''re doing it.

I think I should get one too. I don''t want to be the only one with horrible skin!

Hmmm, I might. If I get brave. I might have had 5 kids (3 without pain relief) but I am a complete wuss where leg waxing/epilating is concerned

I can wax, but keep those epilators far, far from me.

I have only had my legs waxed once. I was horrified at the pain. I am such a baby.

I just bought a set of double pointed knitting needles and regular knitting needles. I think the kits have something like ten or fifteen sizes each. I am going to be good to go!!

A sterling silver necklace featuring swans facing each other in profile.

Tomorrow I am going to pick up a new DVF dress in leopard. Maybe a pair of shoes.
And we treated ourselves to an awesome night out last nite.

I saved up some money and went shopping with my best friend this weekend. She is a fashion graduate and works in the industry and told me that I dress too old for my age
39.gif
(she was right but it's a hard thing to hear- crule to be kind)

So.... I did a big wardrobe chuck out and bought 2 pairs of skinny jeans, a green marino dress, 2 pairs leggings, 1 long beautiful wrap blouse, 1 long beaded tunic thing, one long white shirt, one strechy patterned dress, 2 necklaces, 2 pairs or earings and a scarf
9.gif

That's the most I've spent on clothing at one time EVER!
6.gif

I still need to find a nice jacket, a few more long tops and some warm cardagins but I have really beefed up my casual and smart/casual wear which I'm stoked about.

AND the wardrobe clean out has given me a couple of pairs of shoes and two dresses I can sell online to fund future shopping trips AND a huge garbage bag full of stuff to donate.

When I stopped to think about it -- geez, I''ve been on a bit of a SPREE lately. I''m afraid to list everything:

* Vintage advertising clock (Brimfield Antique Show find)
* Two super soft, t-shirt weight hoodies from The Gap in black & tan
* Awesome new stainless steel trash can
* Ikea dining room table & 2 chairs
* Ikea desk chair
* White gold reversible huggie hoops -- one side matte finish + scattered diamonds, one side shiny

Maisie, This is a great thread! So fun to see the things that bring us joy from a simple silverwear organizer to diamonds, it''s great! I treated myself to a few new plants for the garden this weekend and I picked up last week a spinel I got set in a logr pendant setting, I will do a photo shoot in the am and post.
36.gif

Maisie the runner is lovely! And Lauren I still want to come and play in your jewelry box.

We just got DH''s first paycheck from his new job. I bought two pairs of jeans that were desperately needed. I did not spend a ton on them but it was more then I would have before. I love them. They actually fit, lol.
I also got the iPod touch that I am posting from now.
4.gif
I am glued to
it and have been playing games with my sister in Canada. Technology rocks. DH got a new phone. The android backflip.

I''m really happy that this thread is doing so well! We will have to start a new one when PS 2.0 is up and running.

I would love to be able to knit. I remember when I was giving up smoking years ago. I knitted a big jumper. What a mess it was but it kept me busy while I was going cold turkey!

I have such a limited wardrobe. Black trousers and long tops. To hide my chunky bits! I can''t wait till I lose this weight so I can go out on a massive shopping spree. I bet it feels good to have a different look.

I want to wear jeans!! And I will, one day!

My son has an Ipod. Not the phone, just the music player. I used to borrow it to go on PS before I got my laptop. Its amazing how quickly you get used to using them. My phone is due an upgrade soon and I am trying to decide whether to get the iphone or another blackberry.

Wow Maise! The walls look great, I would never have guess it was paper.

I had a bit of a shopping spree this weekend, I had a really good time just by myself. I caught up with all my podcasts whilst wandering around the shops giggling to myself at Hamish & Andy (any non-Aussies have to listen to these guys, so funny).

Anyway, I bought a new Elle McPherson Bra and knickers, super cute pair of dark grey silk shorts from my favourite store, Fleur Wood, my first pair of sneakers in about 10 years, white leather converse low-tops and a super soft wool top.

Oh and some yummy teas from T2!

Zoe, I love Lisa Scottoline too! I read Look Again a few months back. I thought it was pretty good. She has a new Bennie Rosato book out- haven''t read it yet, but I''m planning to download it to my Kindle when the price drops a little bit.

Lauren, your pink tourmaline is beyond fabulous - color, cut, mounting, everything! I''m starting to believe that I should have my PS friends buy my stones for me. You choose the best stuff!

Maisie, I LOVE what you did with your dining room. I can''t believe that the wainscotting is actually wallpaper!
And here I am picturing you with beadboard and a saw. LOL! I never even knew that they made wallpaper like that. It looks fabulous!
