What does your everyday necklace look like?

Well, anyone who saw my '5 Favorite Pieces' post isn't going to be too surprised that my necklaces aren't too vavavoom, but, rather are fairly low key and casual.

Firstly - my silver heart on a 30" sterling silver box chain. The heart was a birthday gift, and the baseball was part of the first ever Christmas gift my now-husband gave me. He was 19 years old at the time, and the baseball was his from when he played state-league under 21's baseball. Love that man! (...and each of these pendants have something to do with love!)
20200220_141602.jpg

The next is a 14kt solid gold and enamel cupcake charm, on a 14kt yellow gold chain, along with an opal and garnet flower, also set it 14kt. It's 'love' connection is - hallo! - CAKE!...and flowers, both of which I love. ::) The combo is so smiley and happy!

20200220_141355.jpg

Next up is my Australia pendant in rose gold. I big-puffy-heart love Australia - the land of my birth - so putting the...big puffy heart...next to Australia's national emblem, made in gold, was a no brainer. I LOVE this necklace and wear it often - tho most often when I'm feeling home sick.

20200220_141433.jpg

Next up is my diamond cluster necklace. The center is a 1.11ct Good Old Gold signature cut (called Ascendancy, I think?) surrounded by 8 x 20pt stones (approx) - 2.75 ctw. Both the setting for the cluster, and also the chain, are in platinum. It has a lovely weight to it, and matches my cluster earrings, both of which reflect my love of jewelry and diamonds. <3 Despite having a lot of ctw in it, the setting for this necklace is smooth, sturdy and non-fuss, so it gets worn a lot, even with very casual outfits.

20200220_141528.jpg

And lastly - my wedding pendant, made from the gold from my wedding ring, my husband's wedding ring, and my engagement ring. The melee is from my wedding ring, and the larger diamond was a Valentine's day gift from my husband. This necklace has 'save in case of fire' status! And it should be pretty obvious what love this represents. ::)

I have 2 necklaces that I would consider only special occasion pieces, but the ones above are rotated regularly as my casual, daily necklaces.

May I please see more photos of the giant pendant? Especially a side profile shot?

Mine is a very simple white and rose gold Fabrege egg with a diamond bail and a small .40 sapphire at the base of the egg.

Beautiful! I really love Fabergé eggs! What a treat to see one! Thanks for sharing!

Re: What does your everyday necklace look like?

Late to the thread (so typical!) - the top milgrained bezel pendant belongs to a dear friend of mine, but the halo necklace is mine. At first I thought it might be too flashy for everyday wear, but now I wear it all the time, even sleeping and exercising. It only comes off for showering. :)

Oh wow, love those facets! Both are drop dead gorgeous!

Hi @CaseyLouLou -

I'm not sure which necklace you're referring to. None of them are what I'd call 'giant'. They're all pretty normal, really.

Sorry - it was meant to be an amusing exaggeration - I meant the flower cluster one with fairly good sized diamonds. It's gorgeous and blingy and I wanted to see the side profile to see how it looks.

I didn't think I was into charms, until I fell for these vintage 9ct gold ones. I am wearing these as individual pendants for now, but will likely wear them as layered individual pendants or a charm necklace or charm bracelet occasionally. Or perhaps even hang them from french hooks as mismatched earrings. They are small but ridiculously detailed. I'll let the photos do the talking...

I don't think I can ever afford a real Fabergé egg, so I'm overjoyed with this egg charm that opens! There's even a little bird inside!

This hour glass charm has real sand and works!

Just to give you an idea how small they are (and I have fairly small hands with ring finger size 2.75):

Group shot with sentimental hand-me-down pendants from my mother and grandparents, which I have never worn, but may string together as a charm necklace now.

I love your charms. Now I need to go take mine out to look at. I have some with moving parts from my mom...

I never had a thing for necklaces, until I bought this dainty, sparkly 0.39 ctw beauty last year. I wear it almost every day. I can't capture any good photos of this, but it's bright and pretty in real life.

Thank you @EllenS1 ! I love opening them and "playing" with them!

Thank you @Slick1 , I love that they are miniature worlds on their own and I especially love the ones with moving parts! Please share photos of your charms too!

I love these, especially your egg! I have an egg with an angel in it. I don't think I've ever seen another egg with something in it before.

Wow, your egg is exquisite! And I've been looking for something with that exact shade of gorgeous blue! Would you mind sharing where you got this?

Thanks Sparkle_ruckle! I wish I knew. I received it as a Christmas present from my kids many years ago. I don't think I asked where they got it.

This was my 21st birthday present from my parents. It’s four princess cut sapphires from a B&M jeweller in Dorset, England, where we used to live. I wore it almost every day, but now I have a 1 and a 2 year old who grab anything in sight. So it’s just stud earrings and simple rings for the foreseeable future! my everyday pearl earrings have been wrangled from my ears and lost in the carpet more than once

I’m looking forward to wearing this again regularly though, it’s so pretty in real life.

I swear a small rose good evil eye necklace.
I got it for Valentine’s Day this year. It’s either very ironic that the pandemic hit immediately after ... or else it’s working because no one in my family got sick. 9EEC5E30-0060-4AA3-B51D-B32762029D73.jpeg

I don't have a "daily" necklace as I tend to change all my jewellery (except watch) every day to suit my mood/outfit but I swap between these three a lot - the pear diamond pendant, the opal pendants or my Akoya pearls. On my dream list is a Canturi cubism pendant...

Can I get details on your dbty necklace? What’s the chain length and how many pts are there? Lovely!

It’s 15 inches and I believe 20 pts

I wear a .71 (I thought it was .78 but just looked at the cert and I was wrong) bezel diamond pendant! This was my original engagement diamond so it’s very special and I wear it everyday whether I’m dressing up (rare) or in a T-shirt!
