Please let me know what you think of this radiant. According to the gemologist "it has a very nice amount of light return, with great symmetry and pattern. However, it does have a slight bow-tie effect."
I am getting another radiant evaluated with the results expected on tuesday.
I'm not an expert on ASETs but PSers have mentioned it's better to have more red than green in the ASET. They like it when most-to-all of the stone is red.
This is what Brittany over at WF had to say about the ASET for both
"In regards to the light performance, I do feel that both are very nice diamonds. It is hard to find a radiant with a primarily red ASET, and for reference I have attached a few examples of previous radiants we have brought in. Keep in mind that green is light return. Both of your diamonds have an extremely small amount of leakage, so the majority of the light entering the diamond is exiting and returning to your eye. They are very bright and do provide a wonderful amount of sparkle."
Is there a reason you're looking specifically at radiants? In my personal experience, other diamond cuts tend to have better light return. When my husband and I were ring shopping, we started out looking at radiants, but we couldn't find a high-quality stone that we liked. We ended up getting a cushion, and I couldn't be happier. But if you're into radiants that's great! It all comes down to what you like. I just don't love either of those two ASETs.
