I have a pair of oecs that I was going to use as studs but then realized I don't wear earrings so had to come up with a new plan for them. I saw this antique cut pear and thought it might work for a three stone ring. I love the look of the chubby pear and I love them together. Look at those cute little culets
!! But I am wondering if the pear is a little small for the side oecs? Do you think it will work if I halo-ed the pear with little oecs melee or single cuts?? The pear is 8.11 X 5.87 and the oecs are about 5.15mm. All 3 are J in color. I am still in the return window for the pear but it is not easy to find an antique cut chubby pear that is in budget and matching color as the oecs and eye clean. Soooooo, what do you think? Thanks!!

These are GORGEOUS stones!! I see them in the Titanic ring setting….read this and drool along!![]()
I love that combo!! They all look great together. I don't think the side stones necessarily need to be that much smaller than the center stone. I think this would look really nice. I probably wouldn't even accent the pear with a halo or anything![]()

Antique pear and OEC three stone ring (OWD & JE perfection)
Earlier this year, I emailed Adam at Old World Diamonds to see if he had any neat stones besides the usual OECs/OMCs/antique cushions, and to my surprise and delight he had the cutest antique pear! I purchased it and fell in love with it, though I had no idea what I would do with it. I sat on...www.pricescope.com

It is absolutely gorgeous and scrumptiously mouth watering AND her stones' ratio is about the same as my stones... so you guys agree that the stones work together? I am getting excited... it is my 50th birthday present project.... couldn't travel home and throw a big birthday bash... coz you know ...Covid.... so this is my husband's consolation gift

I think they are three beautiful stones. I wonder if you tuck the sides in and have the center pear raised a tiny bit higher if that might do the trick.

Yes!! The angle of the sides are very important and I think you are right with setting the pear a little higher, will give it the impression of being a little bigger.I think they are three beautiful stones. Thanks for the tip!Yes I agree. I had a similar ring made and I didn’t tuck the sides enough and it looked kind of too flat across my finger and I ended up taking it apart. Make sure there is a nice curve across the top of your finger.
You could also do metal bars between. You will be happy seeing all that matching chunky sparkle in one place.
Steven Kirsch did a gorgeous 3-stone with a pear (somewhere on PS...)
I'd go to him if he's in budget!
Wow !
Best of luck @Diamondbug
looking forward to seeing what you come up with but after seeing the Titanic ring i think the three stones will compliment each other appropriately and also rather spectacularly
I love the stones! I actually would halo the pear though, I think it would look lovely as a design element in the ring.
I can't picture it.. do you have photos to show the metal bars?![]()
Oh!!! I found it. The sides are pears - but the ring is gorgeous!
Old cut pears three stone ring made by SK
Waaaaaay back in December my wonderful hubby surprised me with the center stone of this ring. 2.56c antique pear. (GIA K VS1) After the holidays I started trying to come up with setting ideas. Completely on a whim, I reached out to some of the old cut diamond vendors wondering if I'd be able to...www.pricescope.com
