Good morning PS,

I was hoping I could get some feedback on a diamond I will be taking a look at this afternoon.

GIA 1.07 H-VS2 (3VG)

It scored an 0.8 on the HCA, and is a triple VG according to GIA. No flour.

Would this be considered a great performer, or is the HCA too low for its specifications?

Here is the GIA REPORT: 14436039

Depth: 62.3 %
Table: 57 %
Crown Angle: 35.0°
Crown Height: 15.0%
Pavilion Angle: 40.4°
Pavilion Depth: 42.5%
Star Length : 55%
Lower Half: 80%
Girdle Medium to Thick, Faceted, 5.0%

The gentleman paid retail... (OUCH) at 11,313.00 CDN for the diamond and $13,341.00 CDN after tax and setting.

He is selling me the entire ring (14k wg setting) + diamond for $6,000.

Here are a few pictures of his ring/stone:

Here is a few pictures of the solitaire band I have chosen (18k wg)
(set with 0.78 & compared with a 1.00ct)

I really appreciate your feedback, thanks so much PS!

What do you mean "too low for it's specs"?

The report is from 2005. They didn't grade cut back then, and it is not listed anywhere on the actual cert on GIA's site. Just P/S, which are both VG.

It scores well on the HCA - it's under 2, so it has potential. The next step would be to get an idealscope image - can you get one?
