A77A2309-C5BA-48C0-B437-749221301164.jpeg I’m looking to upgrade my diamond in the next few months and have purchased a few different styles of CZ rings to “try out”. I think I’m falling in love with this one, and will have a similar style made after I purchase the diamond. I never thought I would go for rose gold (always wore white gold) but I’m really loving the contrast between the metal and the diamonds. My question is: what color oval should I get? I was planning to look for a G when I was considering white gold...can I go down to H with the rose gold? I don’t want to overspend unnecessarily if an H will look just as white as a G in rose gold...

You could go down to a J color comfortably. A brown tinted K would look lovely with a rose gold setting. It really depends on how color sensitive that you are.

The main thing you need to try to avoid is the color difference between the well cut facets and the virtual (more mushy facets).
More color will show in the mushy facets. Ideally, you'll find a stone that has minimal mush and very little color difference. In that
case you can go down lower in color (I/J) IMO.

This is what I'm talking about. The color difference between the "mush" and the facets that are reflecting light nicely. If you find a nice stone you sholdnt
see too much of this and can go lower in color IMO.

I don’t have an oval, but I do have an antique cushion that’s a k in rose gold.

That’s my ring in the link. I think it depends on the stone and how color sensitive you are. But, an I or J would probably be fine. I’ve been helping a friend look for ovals and I think he’s going to go with an August vintage one because of the cut and performance. I am no expert but I think you could go with I or j or maybe warmer, depending on your eyes and the stone if it’s well cut. They are some beautiful stones from August vintage.

I would see some in person if possible. To my eyes, ovals show color before any other shape. It's the "mush" area referenced by a previous poster and I've seen F ovals that were too warm in that area for me. August Vintage ovals are so pretty and face up much whiter than your typical oval. And while I agree a warm diamond would look lovely in rose gold, especially if you love a sort of old world vibe, which I personally do, you need to make sure that's what you'll want for life. You're probably not going to want to reset a low color oval in white gold.

:(:(

I would love an oval from August Vintage! Unfortunately there aren’t many available on the website to choose from, and none in the size range I’m looking for :(

@Rhino , I just filled out a request form on the AV website for an oval :wavey:
