I have no idea. I remember when they were given to me it was a "these are EXTREMELY special and take VERY good care of them" from my grandmother who threw gold and pearls and such at me for most special occasions. A very big deal was made out of these. I remember being told AAA akoya, and I'm sure that was for these?

Today I have a twisted torsade of baroque akoya and pink metallic drop strands. The hanging pendant is a loose metallic pearl purchased from Sarah of Kojima Pearls. I glued the bale on it and used an enhancer to clip to the strand.

Thanks, mrs. taylor and LitGeek! The white freshwater metallics are two separate strands, one 7-7.5 mm 18" strand and one 8-8.5 mm 19 " strand. I bought them late fall and intended to keep one but they looked so pretty together I decided to keep both. The smaller strand is less round but has sharper luster.

Riogrande.com and bellafindings.com both sell the enhancer. There are 2 sizes. The one in the picture is the larger one. We are flying out next week too. See you in about a week.

11 mm AAA akoyas are extremely rare and VERY expensive. Your grandma has great taste and you are incredibly lucky to have her! I would love to see her collection...

Oh my God, I didn't think that these strands could look any better but they're amazing today! I don't know if it's the color you're wearing or the lighting, but they absolutely glow!
Did you get all three custom made or were they on her site?

The bottom I bought as a set of tropicals and asked her to add the keshis in. The middle I bought for the fireball and asked her to do dark purple metallic pearls with the lighter keshis. The top was only tweaked to remove the beads, but that wasn't my call.

And thank you. They're totally amazing. I really didn't think this would be my favorite look. I knew I'd love it, but I just keep wanting to wear them every day!
