Anything fun or interesting?

Today I made bird suet for the woodpeckers and beeswax tealight candles. A day you can spend puttering around is the best day ever in my book. :)

I'm bleaching my roots. Such a pain, but so nice when it's done. I'm done with the bleach part, then I applied three different shades of toner, and now I have a deep-conditioning mask on. I'm never entirely sure how each touch-up is going to turn out, but I know it will look better than the black, orange, and yellow look that happens when I haven't done my roots for 6 weeks and the color has faded!

Just got back from a wonderful hike where we spotted a gorgeous Blue Heron. So I guess you could say we were puttering with nature and always in awe of the amazing wildlife around us. :kiss2:

I'm going to make a pie for my DH.
It's a certain kind of 'birthday' for him, 17 years sober, so he needs a treat!

That Is one tremendous feat!
Not one to be ignored or glossed over. Until one has been seriously addicted to a substance or constantly around an addict at their lowest you will never understand the fight or will they have to live and push on.

Most people start because of a tremendous pain they feel and try to self medicate. These people have pushed everyday for years to try and keep themselves here.

"Junkies" & "Drunks" who have overcame that are my heros!!

Wow! Please tell him congratulations for me! What kind of pie are you making him? :lickout:

Pineapple pie!
I had a can of pineapple at Christmas time and I didn't know what to do with it. So I searched online and saw a recipe for Pineapple pie.
I made it and it was delicious! So I'm gonna make it again.

I am doing nothing today...absolutely boring nothing...I did mange to do 3 loads of laundry and change my sheets...thats it....I am so bored

I did a lot of housecleaning today! So much laundry and changed the sheets. I had to work for a few hours as well but was able to do it remotely, thank goodness! Not an exciting day here either.

Hemmed some curtains that were too long. I may have made them a tad too short but oh well!

I am impressed
My new custains are still fabric, tape and a roll of linning

and i hated the length of the old ones ....
So i hacked at them with scissors 5 year old sryle !

Here is a sparkly to refresh you when you take a break.

That homemade crust! Looks so yummy.

Mom taught me to make pie crust a long time ago.
The trick is ---use real Crisco, and don't handle it too much.
The fluted edge was real pretty before I baked it, but the crust tends to puff a little, and the fluting gets distorted!

Crisco is solid vegetable shortening, or vegetable fat. The white stuff in a can or tub that you add to pastry.
Similar to something called you have called Kremelta, Sunnfry?
