I have searched this site, and have found many comments/pictures of the WF Legato setting, plain or with Micro Pave, but not with the shared prong melee, which is what I think I might get:

If you have bought this setting (or even if you haven''t!), I would appreciate some feedback as to what your thoughts are, and I would love to see some real-life photos. I am planning on using this for a 2.5 - 2.75 carat EC.

Thanks.

You need to contact WF and ask questions about how and if they could mount an EC on this ring. I am not sure how high the head would have to be mounted in order to "clear" the ring for an elongated cut like an EC, especially one over 2.5 carats. I am working with them on this setting right now for a RB and we have discussed several head options in order to prevent rubbing, etc.
Every time I thought I had a head that I liked, I was told it would not fit in the setting and avoid rubbing the prongs, etc. And I am only setting a 1.77 RB!
What type w-ring do you plan to wear? How adaptable this setting is to an EC would most likely would depend on what type w-ring you plan to wear. That is where I ran into problems with the head I wanted to use for this setting. I want the diamond set as low as possible and still not have the w-ring rub the prongs of the e-ring.

I am not totally clear about what''s rubbing against what. The ring I am getting for her is for our anniversary, so it will probably be the only ring on that finger. Am I safe?

Yep! You''re safe!

If she will not wear another ring next to this one, then you should be fine. The rubbing problem usually occurs when the prongs of a shared prong w-ring worn are worn next to an e-ring with a low set diamond.

Make more sense? Sorry if I confused you before.

Thanks Lynn and Secondhand. It''s clear now, and it''s what I thought, but thanks for confirming it.
