Happy Wednesday all! I'm only a pound off my low right now so I'm pretty happy again (but I'm sure those TWO snack sized back of mini oreos I snarfed down yesterday will catch up with me on the scale soon enough... )

Last night my client said "you look really thin in those pants" and this morning one of the portfolio managers said "you've been losing weight" so I felt pretty good about all that!

Marcy, congrats on the jumper, and I can't wait to hear how your first day goes!

Kimberly, I worry about things way ahead of time too. But don't worry--you're a GREAT teacher and you'll be wonderful with your own room.

Rod, you KNOW we need pics of Charlie's new BMW, right?!?

Stephi, oh my, it's far too hot to walk or mow the lawn at 100 degrees! Go sit down in the A/C somewhere and PS some more!

CG, happy belated birthday! And LOL on Fat & Sassy.

PG, it's great that your coworker noticed your progress!

ChinaCat, I know what you mean about actually *getting* to the gym. There is a gym in my complex, which is exactly 70 steps (yes, I've counted) and one short elevator ride away from my front door and it took me a year and a half to actually make it there for the first time...

tiddy, I didn't realize you were training for a marathon. Good for you!

Hey Ellen!

jas, if I ever pass you in the street I'll be able to recognize you from your Solid Gold hair, right? Between that and your jingly belt you'll be hard to miss!

shortblonde, I know what you mean about eating the same things over and over again. The problem is when I find something new *that* then becomes my new thing to eat over and over again, ha ha.

Mara, let us know how it goes with the nutritionist. And LOL on the cardio for love handles!

Al, your dinner at the Japanese place sounds delish!

Lorelei, wow, what a great treadmill workout you had!

Monnie, how's the job? Let us know what new sparklies you have your eye on now that you've had time to peruse the cases!

PG - Yay for coworkers noticing - doesn''t that feel AWESOME??!!
9.gif

CG - the meal sounds AMAZING at DP, and I love love love the Fat & Sassy moniker! too cute!

Rod - YAY on the cars! Sounds like you guys are stylin on the rides now! What a cool thing the Bluetooth is, huh? I definitely want that on the next car I buy - such a great feature.

Marcy - WOW - so great it''s still melting off. I know it can get much harder to lose as you get closer to goal, so the fact that you''re still melting it off is a testament to the really hard work and dedication you''re putting in. Kudos! And I hear ya on the muffins....I''ve been good, though, and haven''t made em.
11.gif

Well, yesterday started off healthy with the FiberOne flakes/blueberries/smart milk....but it derailed after lunch when our dept had CHEESECAKE to celebrate birthdays---one of which was mine. UGH---LOVE cheesecake, but I coulda done without that. However, I did back-to-back one hour salsa classes last night to mitigate the damage - LOL. This morning, I''m paying for it a bit - sore in the right hip, which is strange....I never have that happen! Guess the AGE is catching up with me.
38.gif

Back on the program this morning, though, with two slices of multigrain toast, and plans for a healthy salad with a touch of chicken for lunch. Have a great Wed., everyone!

wow alj on the salsa, we SO have to catch up this week...i want to hear about that!!! this place where i am going to see the nutritionist also offers these cardio dance classes, guess the rage now is Zumba, some sort of latin style cardio thing. supposed to be really fun and burn the calories too. i also do want to learn salsa or some type of real latin dance, my dad took it up about a year ago and is a pro! we went to the SJ jazz festival with them 2 weeks ago and i had to dance a salsa with him, i just tried not to fall or kick anyone! he said i did well. hah.

CG so happy you had a tasty dinner, sounds delish. sorry that a few of us are up on the scales, thats why i don''t weigh myself hahaaha. though i think my days of denial will come to an end today when i meet with the nutritionist. marcy, you are so amazing that you are losing weight so quickly, wonder what happened to jump start it. i can''t even imagine dropping like 1.5 lbs from one day to the next and not having it come right back.

last nite''s dinner was tasty...i did about 25 minutes of a home workout before having to get ready. dinner was a few piece of bread with butter (mmm), a little bit of fresh mozz (the best!) and heirloom tomato salad, and then a grilled seabass with asparagus and potatoes...yummy. i ate 1/2 the fish and a bit of the asp and potatoes and gave the rest to my dad who wolfed down his pizza margherita (he works out WAY too much, he is always hungry). dessert was this small chocolate molten cake with white chocolate mousse and then we all shared this strawberry cobbler that we had a few bites of, both were yummy but i think the cobbler was better. i am kind of starting to max out on chocolate, which is good because then i go on a ''i dont like chocolate'' thing for a while and it makes me try other more fresh dessert options and not crave choco so much.

oh and i forgot to mention that we had cupcakes to celebrate a site redesign in another dept and i had ummm 1.5 and they were quite large.
3.gif
i told greg last nite about the last few gorgefest days at work and he goes ''gee i don''t really remember seeing any obese people there'' and i said ''i know it''s so surprising considering!''...but yeah i think almost everyone around me could stand to lose 10 lbs, probably all the sweets we have hanging around. except my team which is the smallest team around...and then there is me. hahaha. i guess they call our team the skinny team since all the girls are skinny, i''m like hmmm why did you guys hire me? lol! and we have another tall more curvy contractor who just joined as well. so she and i are the less tiny ones.

anyway, tonite i meet with the nutritionist, she said to bring my ''typical'' week with food, i said typical when we don''t have 3 work birthdays to celebrate? typical before i worked here? hehee. so the meeting should be good. she is also going to do a body composition test and i think a fat test (or maybe they are the same thing). also we are having our carpets cleaned which i am excited about, as they are so dirty. and i have to schedule the window cleaners to come this wkd too. i am on a summer cleaning mission!!!

hope everyone is having a great morning/day...!! oh and the new massive whole foods opens up near work so i think we are going there for lunch to see what goodies they have. can''t wait.
5.gif

So I am eating a low-fat, flourless, sugarless blueberry banana muffin and it''s delicious. Not too sweet like most sugar-free items, and perfectly moist. Is this possible? Is this actually ok to eat, or do we think there are lots of hidden bad things in it?

Dinner last night was sweet-potato gnocchi, which was surprisingly low-fat and low-cal. HH and I were both packing (to go on separate trips) and I didn''t get home from work till late, so we just ate what we had. It was so yummy.

I am off on a trip so I am crossing my fingers that I can maintain some semblance of a diet while there. I don''t think I will get to the gym since we are staying in a B&B- plus I am going to two different places this weekend and there is literally no room in the bag for tennies. But I have already had my pilates instruction twice this week so I will just concentrate on staying on the diet. Possibly will get a walk/run in this weekend. I have many Luna bars and such to snack on and plan on taking a sandwich so I can avoid McDonald''s. I have a weakness for McD''s and somehow think it doesn''t count when travelling!
11.gif

Marcy- No way did I remember all of the lyrics, I had to look it up! Congrats on more loss of poundage!

Rod- Congrats on being a two-BMW family. Sounds like the new version of the nuclear family- used to be 2.2 kids with the white picket fence, now it''s 2.2 BMW''s and an ocean view!

PG- That is so motivating when someone else notices the weight loss! Congrats.

Mara- I will be really interested in hearing the results of your meeting. It sounds like you eat really really well already. And I am sure your BF is quite low!

Kimberly- Don''t stress about something that will happen in a year! You sound like you are an amazing teacher, very patient and wise. I am sure there are plenty of things to stress about that are happening much sooner.
2.gif

Skippy- Have a most wonderful trip!

Lorelai- I assume you are in England with the pantsy weather? I LOVE London, HH does too- however, I was speaking with a friend who lives there yesterday and she said it was COLD, scarf, sweater and coat cold. In August! I hope you get some sunshine soon!

Ok that''s all I can remember off the top of my head. Next time I am taking notes!

Good morning all,

YAY YAY YAY YAY!!!!! I reached my goal weight. Down 20 pounds.

35.gif
Can you tell I am happy!!!
I can''t begin to tell you, how hard it is to lose weight with these meds I am on, but I DID it!!!!!!

For breakfast this morning I had a Starbucks non fat Latte and a low fat cranberry muffin, it was soooo yummmy. For lunch, it will be a JC turkey burger and for dinner a JC chicken salad.

Rod: So glad you are feeling better every day. I know the news will be good news you receive from your Dr. Glad Charlie is loving his car. Please give him a hug from me.

PG: Doesn''t it make you feel good when people notice you have lost weight??? Hooray for you!!!!! Keep up the great work
36.gif

Mara: I LOVE Heirloom tomatoes, yummmmmmy. I just put a little dot of olive oil and balsamic vinegar on them and oh boy!!!!!

All of my other friends, have a wonderful day. It is HOT here again today. My grand-boys will be coming over after school and we will be going swimming.

Thanks for all of the support

. I''ve slowly been getting back into the workout swing of things. all it takes is a few bad weeks to throw you off track, but the good thing is you can always go back to the good habits. well I can''t find the tape measure for measurements, but I got on the dreaded scale and it said 122.4 pounds. so i''m up 3 pounds from last month. i''m going to assume the inches have crept up a bit too.
7.gif
. i know it''s not a huge amount of weight gained, but i know how easy it is for the pounds to accumulate. i''m going out for cappucino and dessert tonight, but i''m going to get the fruit with whipped cream for dessert instead of the tieramisu or cheesecake. for dinner i''m making steamed veggies and grilled chicken. i''ll make brown rice for dh and i''ll put mine over salad with a drizzle of balsamic dressing.

hey phoenix-you could live in one of the outer boroughs of nyc and have more space to live...i''m just a 1/2 hr from midtown.
hi monarch..good luck on your 1st day! love buying new clothes and in smaller sizes
2.gif

woohoo deejay...send that mirror over to my house...yay on looking thin.
jas-i have one of those bollywood belts and they are fun...they make me feel cha cha cha! i start next thursday and the kids start the 4th as well...

36.gif
. you must look so fabulous.
mara---i can''t resist cupcakes...so scrumptious and they fit in your hand-no fork needed!! i''m sure you fit right in with team skinny--you mustt be the thin ones with t n a...lol

have a great week everyone!

hey guys, it has been a while since I''ve posted but just wanted to pop in! Rod, I''m hoping you get good news ASAP - glad you guys are enjoying your new cars!!
Linda congrats on your weight loss, that''s awesome!
Marcy wow 119 lbs! Amazing!
Nothing new to report here, am up to 23 lbs lost now but it just goes so slow. Hoping to lose abou 20 more. Have really been enjoying classes @ my gym which I think helps to mix up my workouts. Am getting very bored of my lunch foods - usually sandwich and/or soup and/or salad made from home. Sometimes I pack cottage cheese and fruit. I am just not that into lunch - except eating out of course, but I try to avoid doing that too often. I''ve been eating an egg w/ bkfst which I think keeps me fuller longer.
the low cal froz yogurt place near my work is my highlight of the afternoon. I can''t believe a few years ago I used to get medium or large there. Now I get child size or small or maybe a small cone. Having that treat in the afternoon gives me some energy for my gym workout and usually keeps me from craving dessert after dinner so it''s win-win.

Hehehe...yes China Cat, I am in the UK and the weather has been so pants today, it has pelted with rain so hard off and on all day, the wind has been howling and filthy black clouds have been swarming down from the North - yuck. It has been so cold and miserable, we brought some logs in and lit the fire today!

I did 50 mins on the elliptical last night and my calves are feeling it today! Woo hoo - congrats again Marcy!!

Rod, how fun is that having 2 new Beemers to play with????
30.gif

Gail,

Hoooooray for you, down 23 pounds!!! That is wonderful. I know lunches can get boring!!!!!!!!! It is hard to know what to eat every single day.

Keep up the good work

Afernoon All,

It''s just so hard to concentrate today. At least tomorrow at this time I''ll know my results. And I miss working out too. It''s amazing how much extra time I have without the gym, but it''s equally amazing how not being able to work out depresses me so. Seem''s I wasn''t as healed as I hoped this AM, so I guess I''ll have to wait until I meet with the Dr., to see when I can go back to the gym. Most of you are young and beautiful. Stay that way. Getting old is for the birds.

China I laughed about the 2.2 Bimmer family as opposed to 2.2 kids. Certainly that''s the case in our household.

NYC, we live on one of the most fitness oriented sidewalks in the world. I drive along it daily, so I''ll definitely wave at some "hotties" for you, but will do it a bit discreetly as I don''t want anyone thinking I''m trying to pick them up........LOL

I''m with Skippy on eating more Marcy. Please don''t starve yourself. It''s not healthy and you''re doing so incredibly well without deprivation. Eat.......OK?

Hmmm, chocolate covered potato chips. Rod loves chips. Rod loves chocolate. Hmmmmmmm.......

Yay on the great compliment Phoenix!! You go girl!!

Good luck back at school Kimi, Jas and Marcy.......Did I forget anyone else who has classes starting soon???

Charger, it''s been a loooong time since we had dinner at David Paul''s in Maui, but I remember being a sublime experiece. Our service both times we went was fantastic. Too bad you didn''t have such a great experience there Kimi.

Yay on being told you looked great in those pants DeeJay. It''s always wonderful when someone notices!!

Charlie will be heading to the gym after work, but of course I can''t. I''m thinking about stopping off at Starbucks on my way home and sitting under my oak tree and enjoying a cup of coffee. People watching will help keep my mind off my results. Then, when Charlie get''s home we''ll likely wipe the cars off (must have absolutely clean Bimmers, don''t you know??!!) then have dinner.

I hope everyone''s enjoying a nice day today. I''ll check in later.

Hi all,

just checking in over here. had computer issues and was without it for a few days.
i just shared in the preggo thread that i''m expecting again, but wanted to share it here too. My workouts will remain the same, although my diet might become a little more lax
31.gif
. in about 7 months though I''m going to really need you guys b/c I''ll want back my pre-preggo body asap and this time around i''m older which makes getting the weight to fall off that much harder...

Rod, saying extra prayers for you that the report will be good, but that you will have peace no matter what happens. please don''t wait to long to give your vitural family an update tomorrow

Yea Mrs. Salvo! What exciting news! So happy for you!!!!!! It''s funny -- in the last 2 days, I''ve learned of three pregnancies! Whee!

Rod, you are in my prayers, but you already have all the strength you''ll ever need.

Sorry guys, I am just so ill today, as is DH...so I''m off to rest my weary head.

XOXOXOXOX,
Me

Oh WOW Mrssalvo!!! How utterly wonderful for you and hubby!! We''ll be here to help you back in shape when you''re ready. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Mom (Linda!) You too Jas and NYC!

Afternoon All,

Had a great day at school and came home to a phone call from the mom of my fave kid last year asking me if I''d babysit. I''m a bit old for babysitting, but I adore this little guy (and am sure I''ll love his brother too) so I''m going to take her up on the offer. She wants to work out a flex schedule where I come over once or twice a week and spend some time with my fave kid who needs lots of attention so she can spend time with her older child. I''m pretty jazzed.

Congrats, Mrs. Salvo! What exciting news!!!

Rod, I''m sending tons of well wishes your way.

Oh I so totally did NOT want to work out today! On the days when I do something with a client after work I feel like I've already paid my penance to the universe and I never go to the gym, but the nice comments by my client and my coworker really inspired me so I went. (What inspired me to eat two pieces of pizza, two magic cookie bars, and a snack sized bag of potato chips for lunch though is anyone's guess...
20.gif
). The good news is I'm still so full that I don't even care about dinner so I had 1/2 container of yogurt and a 100 cal bag of microwave popcorn. And I did burn 640 cals in 65 mins on the treadmill, then I did two sets of arm free weights and two arm machines.

Mrs. S., CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Rod, I'll be checking the thread as much as I can tomorrow so I can see when you post the good results that you get from your doctor.

Kimi, they must think so very highly of you to ask you to spend time with the little boy. What a good soul you are.

jas, I hope you and DH are feeling better. Let me know if you want me to stop by with chicken soup.
2.gif

NYC, the Thin Mirror is on it's way to your house right now!

LOL Mother Linda!

Gail, I often get frozen yogurt in the afternoons too but unfortunately it doesn't stop me from wanting something for dessert at night...

ChinaCat, sweet potato gnocchi sounds delish! Did you put any kind of sauce on it?

Mara, I can't wait to hear what the nutritionist has to say.

Al, back-to-back salsa classes? WOW--THAT is impressive!

I'm on the go this week, in MA visiting my parents. So the eating hasn't been horrid yet, but then again, the exercise has been lacking the past two days. Today I started off with the best intentions, but ended up eating a bit of italian (greasy italian) and a brownie for dinner. Not great.

On the plus side I DID lose 1.5 lbs last week and an inch off my stomach! I do credit that to my trainer because my abs hurt like a mofo right now from our last session on Monday. So far he is really worth the $ I am paying him. He really shook up my routine and is teaching me exercises that are very time efficient and very very effective as well. So that way I can spend 2 45 min sessions per week getting in all the strength training I need, instead of doing the 3 hour long sessions I was doing. And the results are already better.

Mrs. S, congrats on the new bebe!!! yay!

Hope everyone is having a great day and Rod I can't wait to hear the news tomorrow. Fingers are crossed!

Mrs. S. - congrats on Baby S. That''s exciting news!

Today was so stinkin'' hot here! I ran outside...don''t know what I was thinking. I ran at a local park around some soccer fields. Imagine my surprise when I got hit by a soccer ball square in the back. It was actually pretty funny. Even funnier that I had a white shirt on and the ball left a big muddy print smack dab in the middle of my back. Anyway, I digress. So my leg is now killing me b/c I have procrastinated buying new running shoes and am running on shoes I have put several hundred miles on. I also have a blister the size of Virginia on my arch from my orthotics. Tomorrow I think I will forgo my 4 mile run and hit the shoe store instead and then hit the 4 miler on Friday. I think new shoes are priority 1 tomorrow.

Today I had oatmeal for breakfast, an egg white burrito for lunch, veggies and cottage cheese for a snack, pizza for dinner
31.gif
, and a blueberry iced tea from Starbucks for a late night sweet tooth (sweetened with Splenda though). So it was a pretty good day - well, minus the pizza. Oh and I had a low fat ice cream sandwich....like skinny cows except it was a random off brand. Regardless, it was very good!

Have a good one!

Hi everyone. I ate protein at every meal today and feel so much better tonight. My first night at school went well. I have 19 students in my campus class and 50 students online. I am teaching in the biology lab and they had a cage of crickets in there so I had to move them out of the room; they were too noisy. Aak.
I talked to a lady in the restroom at work today about my weight loss. She asked me how much I weigh now and what size clothes I am wearing. It freaked me out when she said we weighed the same and wore the same size clothing. I thought she was still smaller than me; she said she thinks I am now smaller than her. I wouldn’t consider her fat; she’s not thin by any means, somewhat over weight but not fat. I’m thinking OMG, I am getting to a point where I am so “normal”. It is so funny now that I’m catching up and passing people. They all keep saying “you are inspiring me to loose weight”.
My DH bought me a Tom Everhart Snoopy poster when he was in Vegas last spring; we just got it home from being framed. It is sooooo cool. I love Snoopy.
DeeJay, yeah for being 1 pound away from your all time low. LOL about snarfing down mini Oreos. Great compliments on your appearance and weight loss. Woo hoo for people noticing your hard work. Yeah for being motivated to go exercise. As for the motivation for your lunch menu, well that’s a different subject. Tee Hee.
Al, thank you for the kind words. I know I’ll find the weight loss will be slower and slower as I go but I’m excited at my recent burst of weight loss. I looked at the ww muffins in the store this weekend and they are almost 200 calories so I didn’t think it was worth it. Happy Birthday! Mmm to cheesecake. I hope your hip feels better.
Mara, I don’t know what triggered my spurt but I know it won’t last. It is sure keeping me very careful on sticking at right around 1200 calories. I will cherish these moments when I hit my next plateau. The cobbler sounds good. I find if I don’t eat chocolate for a few days; I don’t crave it but if I’m eating it every day that is what I want for a treat. That’s funny your team is all skinny. It’s kind of unusual. Enjoy having clean carpets, it always amazes me how dirty they were before.
Thanks, ChinaCat. It sounds like you are planning ahead on sticking to your routine as much as you can on your trip. Good idea!
Linda, Yeah, Woo hoo, Yippee and Congratulations! I am so proud of you.
36.gif

NYC, your few extra pounds will come right back off. Like you say they can creep up on you but turning around and going back to your healthy routine will take care of it again. Thank you for saying I look fabulous. I enjoyed wearing my jumper today. It was a good outfit for my first night at school.
Gail, congratulations on loosing 23 pounds. Yeah. Only 20 more to go sounds nice. Thank you for the kind words about me. I want to loose 40 to 60 more pounds; I don’t know for sure yet. Good idea to get the child size, I usually throw some away so that would work great for me too.
Lorelei, it sounds like winter is arriving in your neck of the world. Aak. I keep saying it feels like fall in the morning around here. Thanks for the congrats.
Rod, good luck and best wishes on finding out your test results tomorrow. I will be thinking of you. I did eat a little more today and made sure I had protein at every meal. Thanks for worrying about me; I feel a lot better tonight. I hope you enjoyed a nice, quiet time under the oak tree tonight. I know it’s hard for you to take it easy, but please do take it easy until you are up to exercising again.
MrsSalvo, congratulations!!!! I am so excited for you.
36.gif

Jas, have sweet dreams!
Kimberly, I am glad you had a great day at school. That’s neat you’ll be getting to spend time with one of your favorite kids.
Neatfreak, I hate when you try something different to eat and find it greasy. I know it probably bothers me more now than it would before, but I often find something I think will be a treat just doesn’t appeal to me anymore. Congratulations on the weight loss and inches lost. I am glad your trainer is paying off.
Tdiddy, sorry to hear about your giant blister. It sounds like new running shoes are in order for you.

Take care my WWT PS friends. Think skinny, healthy and toned thoughts.
35.gif

I hope I get to start my day tomorrow with “I lost another . . .” because if I loss .3 more pounds I will be under 200 pounds for the first time since 1999. It was pretty brief then too and the last time before that would have been in 1990. I can HARDLY wait!

Marcy

evening wwters!!!

well i had a great session with the nutritionist. she is actually a dietician and specializes in diabetics and cancer patients and does stints at this wellness center because she is also a client, so she does this on the side because she loves the place. so pretty interesting.

she did a body fat test on me, actually it was a body composition test where she measures my mass and sees how much is muscle and fat and other things. pretty interesting. apparently this is pretty accurate, developed by the same technology that the underwater bf test was. we talked a lot as well and i gave her all my background and history and kind of where i am at now. she was happy that i was already an educated client so she didn''t have to start from scratch aka ''this is a complex carb'' etc...so we could get right to the good stuff. so she did my test and my bf is 23.5%...she also could see that i was well hydrated which was really cool. she measured my frame as well and said was small to medium build which really surprises me as i always think of myself as larger build because i have wider shoulders and hips. she said for my frame, height and with the info from the body composition test, my ideal weight is 133.5. right now i am at about 138 (though in palm springs i was 136) so i could stand to lose about 5 lbs which is what i want to actually, before the test i had told her my mental ideal is about 134 but i want to lose FAT not muscle. she said for my age and all that i am really doing quite well and my bf and weight are in the ideal range...so it might just be some tweaking to get me to where i want to be.

we also talked at length about my habits, what is hard for me, how i typically eat etc. i am going to email her my typical week of eating. she gave me this glycemic index thing and it outlines great for you things, okay for you and bad for you things. she wants me to ONLY eat from the good for you things for 2 weeks.
6.gif
i can also eat all lean meats and fish and lean beef but the beef she said try to only do once a week. i said okay but i have to have something sweet..or i won''t make it. she said fruit, i said that is not a treat. hahaha. so she agreed to let me have a treat like my frozen yogurt or dreyers ice cream as long as the sugars are under 20g and it''s just once a day. basically she is cutting out all white refined stuff, any carb heavy veggies that don''t offer a ton of nutrients, and also most unnatural sugars, even something like honey should be really restricted. soooo that is pretty tough for me but at least she let me have one treat a day. she said just for 2 weeks, to kind of clean out my body and jump start it with diet, but in the right way. i also can''t have ANY bread except sprouted bread...haha. i did get some bread at TJ''s that is sprouted wheat berry bread and is quite good, i actually love super nutty grainy kind of breads so this is perfect for me and it''s only 80 cals for one slice and 4g fiber and 5g protein. and 2g sugar, so perfect.

sooo i think i can do it but man 2 weeks?! hahaha. also she wants me to eat 1800 cals a day (which is more than i eat during the weeks typically...so it will be interesting) and she thinks i might be working out a bit too much...but she said she''d leave that to my trainer (who she also works with and loves) to determine. so anyway i am really happy after talking with her and getting more information, she said i am definitely on the right track but she thinks that i was not eating enough before and maybe overtraining and my body was freaking out thinking it was going into famine mode. she said protein is positive as well but i don''t need to consume more than 100g a day, she said like 60-90g is best.

she also said that it takes 21 days for your body to get over the hard things like carb cravings (which she said are very typical for women and that the seratonin rushes from eating things like sweets or donuts lasts 20 minutes then your body wants more, it''s like an up and down sugar peak)...but it only takse one day for your body to get back into the habit, aka if you don''t eat them for 2 months but then you have a donut, it''s like back to square one. how unfair is that?!??!

so for anyone interested, i can post what she wants me to eat vs not. obviously some of it is really a no brainer but she said no carrots and no corn since they have a ton of sugar and carbs i guess. and she said no mangos, no pineapple, and some other super sugary fruits. no rice at all. all pastas interestingly i can have (maybe because they are low in sugar)...but i don''t really eat pasta anyway. cereal has to be high in fiber and ideally high in protein, she said really she only recommends kashi golean and fiber one. no hf corn syrup. no sodas. no white anything. no sugar in my tea or whatever which i don''t have either. she said to adopt the 90/10 rule and i was like hey! i do that...most of the time. hehe.

went to TJ''s to get some stuff for dinner and some new cereals etc. they were out of egg white salad, AGAIN, jeez. so i ended up making an egg white scramble with mushrooms, salt and pepper and then melted a slice of 2% sharp cheddar onto it, and put it on the sprouted bread which i toasted and made a yummy melt sandwich for dinner. and ate some sweet 100 tomatoes...yummy..those things are so good. i can have my mint choco chip slow churned for dessert which only has 13g sugar in a serving as well.

so anyway...that''s my update! my day otherwise went super fast at work, i am so slammed it''s ridiculous. for lunch we went to the newly opened whole foods which is MASSIVE, about 5-6 the size of the other ones we have here, they carry so much it''s crazy, a full warm and cold deli thing inside, they serve soft ice cream and gelato, desserts etc. craziness. today was the opening day and it was INSANE. we had to park 2 lots over in a church. but i am so glad we went, it was fun to be part of the grand opening, they have been building for over a year. they had my fave lower cal gelatos so i got some..yay. got a salad from the fresh salad bar and then for snack had a ''fruit and nut'' bar which is like some new thing that is JUST fruit and nuts and held together with something like honey...it was tasty. 180 cals and like 4g fiber and protein i think.

also for anyone who loves tea, i am sure you already found this but i was just introduced to ''good earth'' original sweet and spicy tea...has anyone had it? it tastes like super spicy cinnamon which is soooo good...i can''t even stress it...it''s good cold or hot. i notice that drinking it also keeps me from wanting to snack and it also keeps me hydrated. super recommended!

anyhow, watching some TV and waiting for greg to get home. hope everyone had a great day. CONGRATS mrs salvo!!!!

Rod, crossing all my crossables for your results tomorrow that they turn out negative (meaning not positive for anything bad)....Mrs.S, congrats! What wonderful news, and we will surely all help you with shedding those prego pounds!

That''s about all the big news I gleaned from skimming through tonight...I totally want my PS fix so I''m rushing through, sorry!

First and second day of the new job went FANTASTICALLY, I love it already. It''s a wonderful, laid-back environment, and everyone has been super nice so far (course I''m not out selling just yet and I know how cutthroat things can get from prior experiences but at least I am prepared and know how to smooth ruffled feathers if need be, plus I''m ambitious as a salesperson but really try not to step on toes so I think I''ll fit right in and get along well with everyone.) My little bring-along lunches and snacks have been working out well, we don''t take lunch breaks but grab something when we have a minute as it''s a fast paced environment, which is good, certainly makes the day go by quick! And yes, I''ve already scoped out about ten things to "save up for," lol! There''s an associate discount of 30%, but I think that''s the typical jeweler''s discount that is negotiable with any customer so I doubt I''ll be getting any phenomenal deals, ha. We get commission even for repairwork or custom work, so that is nice, and the store mgr. and the owner already have me working on some fun marketing projects so I''m excited about that also. I can''t think of a better fit for me career-wise at this point in my life, I''m really happy this company and I chose each other!

No workout today, unless you count me walking in heels and a dress about 20 blocks total all day, from my parking spot and back this a.m. and p.m. and down to the municipal building to buy my parking permit (co. paid for, can''t beat that). Tomorrow I''ll be able to park in an employee permit lot which means i won''t be walking more than a couple blocks, but hey, it''s something physical! Plus I''m on my feet all day, which I like, I was a semi couch potato this summer besides walking the dogs or home workouts, so I''m glad to be standing most of the day even though it makes my feet and lower back ache, I figure it''s got to be better for my metabolism though!

Off to see what the rest of PS has to offer, thanks again everyone for the votes of confidence and support!

Mara, congratulations on being in your ideal range. That is great news. It sounds like your nutritionist is great. Good luck on your 2 week program. I can’t say I was glad to hear the “donut news”. That’s pretty gloomy!
Monarch, I am glad to hear you love your new job. LOL that you have picked out some treasures all ready. Fun!
Well, I’m yawning and hungry so I’d best get to bed. We had real weird pantsy weather tonight. It rained, hailed and had constant lightning and thunder. The lightning was going off like a strobe light. Cool!
Happy Thursday!

Yay Marcy, I just noticed you are an Ideal Rock - you certainly are!!!

Hi everyone.

I am also thinking of you Rod. It was the first thing that entered my head when I woke up today. Sending good PS vibes your way.

Lorelei, I noticed a few days ago I was an ideal rock. Cool. Thanks for the nice compliment.

I didn''t make 199.9 this morning. In fact I went up .2 pounds so I weighed in at 200.4. Rats. Oh well, tomorrow is another day. Too funny if my loosing streak comes to a halt when I am so close. It will just make me try harder.

Have a great day everyone!

Marcy, what awesome compliments you''re recieving...and so well deserved. Congrats!

Mara, it sounds like your meeting was really interesting and beneficial.

DeeJay you crack me up...I''m sure the pizza was worth it.

Rod, I''m thinking about you today...sending good wishes your way.

J ended up spending several hours at a tenants'' house last night working on the A/C so we went out to dinner. I had about 6" of a sub sandwich and potato salad. Not the healthiest of meals, but not the worst either. I was sound asleep by 8pm.

Time to eat breakfast and go to work!

Happy day all

Happy Thursday all!

Today I''m wearing my "standby" long black skirt. I bought this at Ann Taylor several years ago and it has become a staple of my wardrobe in a big big way. Don''t know what to wear? Well the black skirt of course! Total bonus is that it''s machine washable. The problem is now it is sitting well below my belly button. Not that it matters visually but I feel like it''s slipping off. (It''s not really because my big fat hips will always hold it up, but it kind of slides around a bit.) What a bummer; I''m afrid it might go to the Salvation Army in another couple of pounds.

Neatfreak, wow--better results with 45 min sessions than 3 hrs... hmmm... maybe I need to look into a trainer...

tdiddy, yowch! I had a blister on the ball of my foot a few months ago from some ill-chosen sandles on a 4 mile walk and it hurt like a SOB for days. Get some of those blister pad things from the drug store, they help a ton.

Marcy, it''s interesting the comparison you were making to your colleague. I do that too; I''ll be walking behind someone or see them from a distance and think, hm, I wonder if I''m bigger or smaller than that person. Sometimes walking down the city streets you can go past a first floor with lots of reflective glass windows and get a real view of the two of you together.

Mara, please do post the things that your supposed to eat, I would love to see the list. what is sprouted bread BTW?

Monnie, I''m so happy that your new job is going well!

Kimi, I''m not so sure the pizza was worth it in retrospect, but damn it sure was at the time!

Mara - I''m ready when you are - I''ll be around tonight to fill you in on the Salsa classes - LOL And I reeeeeeeeally want to talk to you more in depth about the nutritionist stuff.....sounds like it could potentially be very helpful for me too, on the diabetes front.

ChinaCat - OOOOOOOOoooooo - sweet potato gnocci! I''ll have to find out more about that. I LOVE gnocci, but the regular version is just too high on the glycemic index for me.

Linda - YAY for reaching your goal! That''s fantastic!

Rod - I''m here - waiting for news; and I''ll be checking all day. Let us know as soon as you can. My thoughts and well-wishes are with you.

Jas - FEEL BETTER! Gosh, being sick stinks, but especially in the summertime. Hope you rest and recover quickly!

Kim - how flattering on the babysitting gig. Sounds like he''s a lucky little guy to get some one-on-one time with you.

Dee--I hear you on the flagging motivation thing. Sometimes it''s just SOOOOO hard to spur myself into action. Heheh - I spent all day yesterday recovering from that back-to-back salsa thing - sat with a heating pad on my hip all day at work. Thankfully it didn''t impede my activity last night.

Neatfreak - where in MA are you? And YAY for the trainer - sounds like it''s time well invested.

Tdiddy - trip to the shoe store sounds like a great idea. Sorry to hear about the blister.

Marcy, good for you for passing by the WW muffins. I have the same battles now. Those Murray cookies are awesome, but I passed up the choco chip ones because there were 150 cals for only 3 cookies, and the gingersnaps were 7 cookies for only 130 cals. To me, choco chip wasn''t worth it! LOL Isn''t it funny how stingy we can become with calorie allocation!

and YAAAAAAAY - holy cow for being on the cusp of going below 200! That''s just A M A Z I N G! You can DO IT!

Mon - YAY on the great vibes from the new job! So glad to hear it sounds like a solid match for you!

Dee - HOORAY for the loose-fitting skirt! Doesn''t it feel great? Last night it was a bit chilly, so I put on a pair of my long-sleeved/pants pajamas from last winter - S W I M M I N G on me......felt AWESOME! Literally, I think Rich can fit into them with me now (which could be fun!

Last night was productive - hubby and I went for a 45-min walk with my dog Nicky, and Nicky was PSYCHED! Good hike, and it felt good to spend some time with hubby. He''s been crazy busy at work, so this was a nice chance to chat and walk. Usually we each end up on the treadmill separately, so it was a real treat to do it together!

Brekky was my fiberone flakes; lunch will likely be a small salad w/a bit of lean chicken. Happy thursday, all.
