Wedding Bands for Tacori e-ring - To go thin or to go big?

Wondering what's people's take on getting wedding band for an e-ring?

Is it better to go thinner to make the ring look bigger but then looks tiny by itself? Or get a bigger matching band? Do people try to match the "brand" of the e-ring?

We're in the process of getting a wedding matching band for a Tacori e-ring I got a while ago, thanks to some great pointers from the awesome folks here! :appl:

Here's a link to the e-ring (posted a while ago).... now looking for an appropriate matching wedding band, yeah like to space out my shopping :)...

For Tacori e-ring owners, do you also get a corresponding Tacori band (which one?), or can any band (even non-Tacori) work?

TIA!

the ering is gorgeous :) I would go try on bands with it to see what you like!

it really depends on the look you want! I would go to a store and try on all different types of bands, thicknesses, etc to see what you like with your ering

Absolutely get the matching ring from Tacori. I don't think anything else will look as good. It would be a headache to match it otherwise. The wedding band just needs to match the shank of the e-ring (milgrain edge with the small diamonds).

They make the 2326smb to go with your ring. It comes in half or full eternity:

You chose a pretty expensive set!

Yeah I know! This gets really spendy! and thought I was done after the e-ring! :o

Here are some pics of various wedding bands... also from Tacori but different styles:

Thinner band, it doesn't have the milgrain on the band with the e-ring but does have some crescent design on the side if you look carefully.

Thicker band, this one was the milgrain that is similar to the e-ring, but doesn't have any of the crescent side stones like the e-ring.

Of course the other option is to get the corresponding matching band (seems pretty thick - same size as the e-ring band - they didn't have one in Robins Bros to try) Here's a link though:

It's actually kind of big and the FI felt at that the side stones were kind of a waste as when you wear the band inside (between the hand and the e-ring) no one will see the side stones since it's all covered.

But I'm wondering though if the matching band would "fit" better or is this really just personal preference? I always had this thinking that the wedding band had to fit "snug" against the e-ring...

At first she wanted to get a generic band (less spendy), but felt we need to keep to the same brand (maybe not do the exact same design though)...

FI can't make up her mind, so looking for some help! :)

Re: Wedding Bands for Tacori e-ring - To go thin or to go bi

I think the ring needs to look the same from the top as the Tacori...so diamonds and milgrain very similar to the top view. The crescents on the sides can be fragile, so I would not personally be opposed to sides without the crescents. I think the band could be the same width as the e-ring shank or a little narrower. But it HAS to be the same height off your finger or it will not look right. That is the tricky part about buying a band that is not the matching one. You can't really see it in my avatar very well, but the Tiffany Legacy band is 2mm and has milgrain. You might want to try it if you have a Tiffany's nearby.

What about going with the fitted version?

HT 2326 SM B1/2X FIT

So talked to the Tacori Concierge (which I highly recommend if you're really looking at Tacori as they know all the options available vs the retailer only knows what's in the glass).

Now the "catch" is that Tacori requires the e-ring back :o (4-6 wks), so they can properly size and make sure it exactly matches and "fits" perfectly. They custom make EACH jewelry.

Even if I were to go with the 1/2 eternity band, they also require sending in the e-ring so they can exactly match the sides and top channel.

Of course this is why Tacori is a premium as each option is hand-crafted. But I do know I will be getting top quality but yeah it gets spendy. ($3750 for 1/2 eternity band PLT and $3500 for the fitted version PLT) .

FI doesn't like it that the band is going to take so much trouble and so expensive, but I kind of like the idea of getting a "fitted" band as I know that will match but at the end of the day it's her that's wearing it -- do ppl still wear bands + e-rings together? In her type of job she can't wear it on her finger, so during the day she puts it on a silver chain around her neck and only wears it at night or when she's not working so she's really questioning to spend so much on a wedding band.

Another approach is I could save by not doing PLT. What's the thought of mixing metals? The e-ring is PLT will that just chew up the gold band?

And I thought figuring at the e-ring was the hard part!!!

I'd keep the metal the same for sure. I would want one to wear on the other
