Hi there,
It has been a while since I posted here:

You guys provided me with so much help, and the suggestions you made actually greatly helped me to buy a good diamond. I am located in Antwerp, and I have the luck of working close to Paul Slegers of Infinity Diamonds. Paul helped me a lot with finding the perfect diamond (he helped me out because most retail diamond stores are closed in Antwerp in August). I chose one of the diamonds Paul suggested, and then one week later sealed the deal through Rob Van Beurden at Fortrez Diamonds. Both were really helpful and I am very happy with their service!!
These are the details of the diamond I eventually chose:
carat: .39
clarity: SI1 (Eyeclean)
color: E
cut: Don't know exactly anymore, but you can check the post above
Very happy with the diamond.
Now for the engagement: I took the ring with me to Canada, and was pretty nervous all through the trip. Then one day, we were going for a walk at Lake Louise. I wanted to find a spot with no people around, so we had left very early. I was going on about finding a quiet spot for something to eat all morning to my girlfried, she was starting to think I was a little too obsessed with food
Little did she know I was looking for a spot to propose to her, with my ring in the mirror cladded jewelry box that I had found in Seattle earlier. BTW I had also prepared an old school mix-tape (CD) for her that I had custom decorated with permanent marker

So at about lunch time, with a beautiful view on the Valley of the Six Glaciers and Lake Louise, I popped her the question! AND SHE SAID YESS!!! We are normally not very emotional, but at that moment we were both really moved...
So without further ado, this is the setting in which I proposed:
