Love love love that bezel ring, Gypsy. Was it an antique or did someone make it recently? Everything about it is perfect.
I love the shape the most. I think that is what I love about the Michael Bondanza Madison setting so much. It is the same shape but without stones. It really calls to me.
Congrats!!! Your stone is fantastic! One of my best friends has her grandmother's upgrade engagement ring--it's from the 50s or 60s, and is a 2.5ct RB center with two graded emerald cuts on each side--very similar to the EC aqua(I think it's an aqua?), and it's goooooorrrgeoussss. I l ve that look!!!
Thanks everyone! It's going to be a while. Hunt isn't going to have a wax till December... so it will be January-ish when I have my new bling. It's going to be a long wait, but worth it.
Thank you April, I'm looking forward to it as well. The diamond is currently on it's way to BGD for a re-polish (diamond spa). After it's been re-polished it will be ready to set.
I agree with the other posters about picking a setting relevant to the size of your stone. I think settings 1 and 7 are beautiful, but will best with larger stones.
I think the other settings are good possibilities. I like art deco, so I lean towards 4 and 6. I think a round diamond will not get lost in these settings because the transition from the setting to the stone is very abrupt. I think a few of the other settings would look better with a colored stone.
Someone recently posted a Leon Mege setting with an art deco-like setting with a round center. I think that would be a good reference.
EDIT: The setting Circe posted is very pretty. I love milgraining on bezels because it makes them look delicate.
