Hi folks!

What are your thoughts on the following diamonds? I'm having a very hard time choosing between the three and I need to make a decision in the next day or so. I put together a little comparison pic showing the diamonds and their respective ASETs. Note that these aren't quite to scale!! Which of these three should I go with? I'm leaning toward the Star. Thank you all so much!!!

Is the 1.69 AVC eyeclean? The 1.28 and the 1.69 have a lot larger spread than the first one does.... The 1.28 represents a better spread dollar wise than the star does, and is a nice cut too.

What does spread mean? I noticed on the website 1.20 page the measurements of about 5mm might be off... The AGS certificate has dimensions that make more sense.

Eye-clean wise here is what the salesperson wrote:

"Regarding the eye cleanliness of the 1.69 I SI2… I myself am extremely picky when it comes to deeming a diamond eye clean or not. I check it in all lighting environments, distance and angles. This specific SI2, it’s actually amazing because I need to go awfully out of my eye to even catch a *glimpse* of it and even when I am able to, I lose it the next second. So all in all, for a SI2, in an AVC, this is a needle in a haystack"

I love the flowery center you see in the 1.69. I could live with the "I", and as long as it is eye-clean that would be my choice.

I kind of feel like it was a toss up between the 1.2 and 1.28. Both beautiful stones with nice light return. Do you have a perference
between more rounded vs a stone with more corners. That might help you decide. The 1.28 is slightly bigger so for some reason
I am leaning towards that one but if you were deciding between those 2 either would be lovely.

I strongly prefer the cut of the 1.28. But that's mostly due to personal preference, not any performance issues on the other stones' parts. I like that l:w ratio, and I like the medium-strong corners. Also, the patterning is the neatest.

You are getting the most spread/carat out of the star (34.476 squared mm per carat), but it's very close to the other stones' spread per carat.

I would probably go for the last stone myself, because with these old cuts size is king for me - I want to be able to see the patterning as well as possible with the naked eye! And the cost savings that comes with a mostly eye-clean SI2 is very enticing. :naughty:

These are all cut well and priced very appropriately - you just have to go with personal preference I think.

I would choose by size because all have a great cut. I generally don't love SI2's with primary feather inclusions, so of these three, I would choose the 1.28 G.

I agree with tyty that I only like the setting you posted for a round stone.

Hi! I'm the previous owner of the 1.69 and I can tell you it is absolutely eye-clean. You really need to know where it is and tilt it at a very specific angle to find it (I traded this in for the larger AVC in my avatar - it was a hard decision to give it up as I had to go with a VS which to me is a waste of $$ but I wanted to go bigger :Up_to_something: )

I like the 1.28.

Then the 1.69.

Both are lovely.
