I purchased this stone but have 30 days to exchange.
Haven't received it so can't look as of yet...
Can anyone give advice or answers to a few questions.

Will not give specific number as to not limit responses.
GIA certified.
1.82 carat
IF
Color G
XXX
No fluorescence
Table 57
CA 34.5/PA 40.6
Depth 60.8
Crown Depth 14.5
Pavilion depth 43.0
Star 50
Lower 75
No cutlet
Med to Sl thick 3.5%

My concern is this:
The price was about 4k-7k lower than anything close in all areas and cheaper than some "better" graded diamonds(all from one of the largest online sellers)
I'm weary of the 40.6 pavilion angle being one that was rounded up by GIA?????
When I do the math to from the link provided by @asblackrock from Oct 2004, using the pavilion depth to calculate pavilion angle I get 40.6955 as the measurement. But is pavilion depth rounded?....if so was it up, down, or was it right on and the pavilion angle rounded down the from 40.69 to 40.6 due to .2 increments????
Doing other math, nothing adds up because things are rounded. GRRRRRR!

Does anyone know if I'm safe with this diamond?
What are the most accurate measurements by GIA certificate as a starting point to calculate from?
Am I driving myself nuts over something that makes zero difference?
And is 20k a fair sounding price for this diamond? 22k with tax delivered (in cheap setting so she can change it to what she wants, and I get an appraisal for insurance)

Also since the diamond is coming set, I don't know if I can do any light testing or scope stuff which I know even less about than any of this other stuff.
All I do know is I love my girl, no one has ever given her anything nice, and I want this to look amazing on her hand!

Thanks in advance. This site has already taught me a bit. But you know what they say about a little bit of knowledge

It seems like you’ve done your homework and your diamond looks very good on paper! And yes, you are driving yourself nuts but you’re in good company here . Did you ask for IS or Aset images? Post lots of pictures in different lighting situations once you get the ring and you’ll get some good feedback.

You should be able to run the GIA grading report number through the HCA tool (under Tools at the top of the forum) - you are looking for a score under or around 2.0 to check it has crown and pavilion angles that complement each other and work well together.

I'll have it on Tuesday night, and I will add some images. Thanks

It gives me a .7. All are excellent. Spread is very good

What do you mean by "better" graded? Gia XXX is as high of a cut grade as possible for gia. I think AGS 000 is better, but thats arguable. I think IF clarity is extreme overkill, since its not a visible difference and you'll pay a premium for it.

You could order an ASETscope to help you assess if it has any issues with leakage.

What I meant was less expensive than some of larger size or better color.... Some smaller stones were more expensive(I meant less expensive than "lower graded" or larger)

Will edit the post. Thanks!

Can't edit...oops

The IF clarity is most of the cost here. You could get a super ideal cut or bigger stone if you drop to eye clean SI1 or vs2.

Do you see an issue with what I chose?
And can you provide some links to larger stones, better cut, at the 20k or less(with all dimensions and scope images)?

Links above with some options. I don't have an issue with the one you chose on paper--just a bit concerned about no pics or ASET/IS information.
