I have done my research to understand all the information I can about a diamond. I am in the market for a 2.0 carat D-G SI2 ideal/excellent diamond. I just want a eye naked SI2. I came across this diamond :

http://www.ritani.com/diamonds/round-diamond-2-02-Carat-G-color-GIA-certified/D-T266H9

And using the calculator here : https://www.pricescope.com/tools/hca , it got a 1.4 which is excellent. I have emailed them to send me images of the diamond so waiting to see how it looks like

Can any one else direct me somewhere with a better diamond for price of 16-17K. Thanks!

any one?

If any one can give me some direction i would greatly appreciate it

What is your budget? I suspect these 16K SI2s are not eye-clean.

My budget is 16-17K. Anywhere between 1.9-2.0 carat will work with color D-G and clarity S1, S2

how much magnified are the pictures on jamesallen? the site seems little more expensive than the other online retailers

There is a "40x" picture you can open, that seems much larger than 40 to me.

Targeting the cheapest SI2 is not the way to go, many of them are not eye-clean or are hazy.

Yekutiel found 2 F/SI2 with fluo for me last year. One of completely eye clean. Give IDJ a call and ask for Yekutiel tomorrow. I was looking for E-G VS2-SI2 2ct stones last year, but ended I getting an H/SI1 combo. Good luck with your search!

Hi Jay,

I have to agree with Julie N. You are not going to find that perfect 2 ct for a lower price range. The best advice when buying online is to work with a jeweler with a good reputation who will stand by your diamond sale. Good Luck and be wise!

Also what do you think about this diamond? it looks very clean for a si2 and was told its eye clean as well. Price is 16300, I think its a great price? thanks!

This one looks nice...I'm sure that inclusion could be covered by a prong. Can you get an ideal scope on it? Do you have the certificate?

I expect that lower inclusion is a feather breaking the surface, so insure the stone always in case it chips.
I doubt a prong can cover that mark, but it can make it harder to see. People with good vision could see that especially if they knew where it is. Not such a bad thing - as you can always identify your stone.
Other 2ct SI2s that are really eye clean will have worse effects such as haziness etc.
This is what I call an Honest SI2

Call IDJ and ask for Yeuketiel. You need an honest opinion if you're looking for eye clean si1 or 2, and you can't see it yourself.

my jeweler here said she would get the diamond for me and price match it, so that way i can even look at it, great deal! hopefully it looks good in person, been looking for a month now

It looks good on paper. If it's eye clean in person (to your standards!), then go for it! I'm sure it's going to be beautiful!

is that an inclusion in the middle of the diamond or just a bad picture ?

I will give you my honest opinion, spending $16 to $17K for a 2ct diamond is way off in price for a good stone it will have lots of inclusions. :-(

I bought it ! It looked absolutely stunning and eye clean. It sparkled like no diamond I've seen. Maybe the hca calculator really does help. And color looked so white. She compared it to a e vs2 and I couldn't tell them apart from just eye. A steal price for 16500

Great :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl:
A happy story
A little knowledge makes for a lot more sparkle!

sparkly!
