Hi everyone I just received my salton cleaner and I can''t get the steam to work. Has anyone else had this problem? Am I doing something wrong? Not much to go by in the instruction book. I hate to have to return it.
thanks Roni

Hi,
I have one and love it. The steamer will do a little steam, then some water, then lots of steam. Is yours doing this? If you are getting no steam/water, make sure you have the water in the steamer, half way full and make sure it is sitting in its holder all the way. If this doesn't help then you may have a problem with the unit. I hope not

Are you waiting for it to heat up? Once you turn the unit on, wait until the ready light comes on. The instruction book says to wait 15 minutes or so for it to heat up. Make sure canister in the back is filled...I go just over 3/4 full, don''t fill it to the top. Also check that the canister is properly locked to the unit. When you finally press the steam button, you should hear kind of like a whistling sound and then start to sputter and little steam comes out. Then some water is spit out and then you get a full blast of steam (sometimes mixed with water). If you do all this and nothing happens, then you probably have a lemon. I hope you don''t!

well, thanks you guys for your input but it looks like I am going to have to return it. Ill let you know how it works when I get
the new one in about a week.

Veronica,
Someone just brought this message to my attention, If you have not gotten it to work yet and didn''t return it. Try pulling the plastic reservoir on the back of the jewelry Spa up Just check to see if the spring lubricant used on the bottom of the plastic reservoir hasn''t clogged the hole for the water to flow into the machine. If it has just clear it with a tooth pick and place the reservior back on the machine and try it again the pump will then be able to pull water in to the jewelry Spa and create a nice wet steam.
The steam is created by automatically pumping a predetermined amount of distilled water into an instant steam generator, it will take about 15 seconds to mix water and heat to then deliver the perfect wet blast of steam required to rinse off the jewelry after the cleaning step. Tip if you require an extra burst as soon as the light over the steam button goes out imedately press it again this will increase the length of the steam a give it a little more power for a tougher rinsing job. Yes you will get small spatting and hissing while steam is being created for about 15 seconds this is normal.
If you or anybody else has any questions about the Jewelry Spa email me Carlo at [email protected] I will try to get to them ASAP.
Carlo
