Hello All,
I've been poking around these forums for a few weeks now and have learned a bunch. I'm a fan of the GOG AVC but there not a huge selection in my price range. My budget is 5000-6500 and was looking for a near colorless eye clean cushion. I was expecting to get a very nice 1 carat. I see GOG has an AVC that is 1.22 carats but a K color which worrys me on how it will look on a white gold setting with all the diamonds on the band. Also what do you guys think of the ASET and of it overall? Thank you for any input!!!

Is this ring for yourself or someone else?

that is a beautiful AVC but I think you will see some color and contrast with the stones in the setting. What about getting a simpler setting and putting more money towards the center stone?

another option would be this one which is smaller but G color

haha not for me. Will be popping the question. The setting really is not much more then some other simple micro pave settings I've seen with cushions. I'm totally content with only a carat, that one ring just popped my curiosity.

I like the setting...if slg thinks your setting is too busy...he/she/it would hate mine! It is all a personal choice

I think its pretty too, but a bit busy for an AVC.

My suggestion is for a lower color like that to stick to a solitaire. Antique cut stones, IMO offer so much personality with lower colors as well!

Beautiful diamond this was a wonderful diamond. Very lively and it was very white to my eyes. The diamond I had before the 1.22 was a cushion that was an H not from GOG and the 1.22 was much whiter than H was. I had it set in this 1930's setting.

I loved this stone and had a hard time returning it. I wanted something wider to fit between the two baguettes on either side of the setting. Jon took many photos of it and if you search his videos you will find at least 3 videos plus the diamond in the setting video. I now have a 1.30 L which is much squarer and it fits the setting much better. Good luck you can't go wrong working with GOG they took great care of me

I like the Sylvie setting. Regarding the K color, I think it depends on if your girlfriend is color sensitive. You will notice a difference between the center stone and the pave diamonds, but it might not bother her.

These are the different videos that I can find that he shot for me. http://www.youtube.com/diamondinfoman#p/search/0/MUoa5TDOlmY

This one is the video John shot that was with Dreamers M that she did with the comparison between her round and the AVC. You can see how white it looks in this lighting. http://www.youtube.com/diamondinfoman#p/search/3/Sa7wlv0nVwk

This is the video that I replaced that beautiful 1.22 K with It is also beautiful so like everyone says you can't go wrong.

being an owner of a J colored AVC.. I will chime in. Sometimes the AVC looks blindingly white (in diffused natural lighting) and other times where I can definitely see the "yellowish" tinge. It all depends on lighting and I would not depend on photos/videos as every monitor is calibrated differently. I personally like that it changes from blindingly white to a "creamy antique lace" color.. but it depends on each individual.

Actually I quite like the setting and don't think It's too busy. However in the picture, it was set with a 2ct. Wonder if the same shank would be proportionally too wide for a 1ct stone.
