I had the exact same experience - well I bought my vatche x prong setting because I liked it, not to look like a lucida, and I have a round stone in it which is different from the lucida diamond anyway. The sales gal at tiffany (when I was trying on diamond bands) said OH, you have the LUCIDA! I was like uh, no. See the round stone in it?! LOL!Date: 11/16/2007 2:05:45 PM

Tiffany rings are beautiful, just over priced of course. My ex-fiancee loved their Lucida rings, but a diamond in the size she was wanting came out to around $13k. Not feasible. A little research and I was able to find a nicer diamond is an almost identical setting for about $9.5k LESS. Within a couple of weeks, we visited Tiffanys again to get her silver jewelry cleaned and went to go glance at their Lucida rings again...the employee that came over to help us commented on her ring and said ''thats a beautiful lucida, did you buy that from our store?'' Not bad that a little leg work/research can fool the person that was working the Lucida counter. Unless you are dead set on having the Tiffanys name, finding a nice diamond and doing a lot of research on the setting can save a ton of money and fool even the Tiffanys employees.
