Greetings from Canada everyone!

I am a LONGTIME lurker and have recently decided to change my e-ring setting to the Tiffany Etoile setting. The specs on my diamond (which is currently in a replica 6-prong Tiffany) are .81 ct, VS2, F, ideal cut.

Now, I just have a few questions about the Tiffany ring itself. This will be another replica, btw, my ring guy is FANTASTIC at being able to replicate a design, even just showing him a picture.

So I was wondering how wide the actual band is. Tiffany does not give any specs on this. Is the width of the band determined by the size of your diamond? The same type band at WF says that it is 5 mm. Do any of you have this band, or a replica that you could attach pictures of on your finger for me?

I want it to be fairly wide, and have some weight to it. I just can''t stand how dainty my current setting it. Plus, most of my friends have a similar design and I want something a little different. I also have a 10.5 month old daughter and I''m always worried I''m going to scratch her (I know, way too paranoid!) or something. So I''d like a lower set diamond, with no prongs, which is why I love the Etoile.

Anyways, I think that''s it. Sorry for the long-winded post. I just can''t find too many pics of the actual band on anyone''s finger. I know the Etoile band ring is about 4 mm wide, but the e-ring looks to be wider than that.

Thanks in advance ladies and I''ll post pics when I get my ring done, in about a month!

I don''t have the Etoile, but if you search for "half bezel" or "semi bezel" you might be able to find some useful pics. My friend has a semi bezel and it is one of my favorite settings! Hers is an oval set E-W and it covers her whole finger and looks awesome.

Look on the Tiffany site.

Pursediva, I have an Etoile as my e-ring. The width of the band is in fact influenced by the diamond size. I wanted a wider band but not too wide because I''m a size 4, so I ended up with a .25 that makes the band the perfect size for my finger. The bands in anything bigger than that looked way too big on my finger, especially when I added the wedding band.

I am attaching a few pictures, they are fuzzy and terrible colors but gives you an idea of how it looks on my finger size-wise.

Hope this helps.

Regalada - is your band the same width all the way around? Most bands that I have seen that are thicker, tend to narrow slightly at the back to make them easier to wear.

Thanks so much for the info ladies. I have a pic of the Tiffany Etoile and of the similar band on WF. I''m going to print them off and give them to my ring guy. I just wanted to know the thickness, but if it''s diamond specific, then the dimensions on my ring are 5.97 x 5.97 (can''t remember the depth right now) which I guess will make my ring about 6 mm wide.

I''m going to see if I can find some half bezel rings to try on as well, so I can see how different thickness'' look.

Once again, thanks! And I''ll post when I have my new setting :)

Sarah, yes, it''s the same width all around.

Good luck on your search!

had pics of the WF etoile, i think one of them was semicustom to be pave and a bit wider. I''d post the pics but that poster doesn''t like you to post her pics for her.

I think this is a wonderful setting - very sleek and elegant a bit different.
