I know I won't find a perfect replica for $300-400, I've seen the threads with recommendations for the really good replicas that are minimum like $800, BG/WF/Excel, etc. Those are all beautiful but out of my budget. My local jeweler has a beautiful Tiffany 6-prong replica for $650, but I'd really prefer to spend closer to $300, with $400 being the max (because if I spend more than $400, I may as well just get the $650 replica my jeweler has).
The only things I would alter from the Tiffany is a thinner shank, 1.8 - 2mm, with a slight taper towards the center stone, and no knife edge. Other than that I love the prong design on the Tiffany setting.
I'll be using a half carat diamond so thin dainty prongs would be ideal.
Full disclosure: I have two local jewelers who are putting some options together for me and I'll see what they have this week. In the meantime I wanted to see what you guys can find online. I'd consider either an option where I ship my diamond out, or have the setting shipped to me and have a local jeweler set it for me.
I found 13 options on the Stuller website that are 6 prong plain bands, but they don't show shank measurements. Only one has the measurements listed and it's too wide. I sent all of these to one of the jewelers I'm in touch with to see if she can find out more info about them and help me narrow it down.
