Hi All,

I purchased a diamond blind based (though I do have a 30 day return window) and I have not received it yet.

But, I wanted to get some insight from this group on if there are any things that should be flagged about the diamond or if there's a good chance when it shows up it will be excellent.

The specs seemed ideal to me which is why I went with it blind. Let me know what you think. I'm expecting a "super ideal" cut, as that's what it was advertised as and based on the specs it seemed to check out via my super ideal angles and HCA was 1, but of course I'm not an expert on this.

It sounds like you've done your homework (well done! :)) ) and the HCA score being under 2.0 indicates the angles work together, so it looks like good news so far.

G should be basically colourless from the top and even the side, and VS1 is a great grade in terms of 99% being guaranteed to look eye-clean from most distances.

If you can get an ASETscope image, you can check the cut consistency and any leakage across the stone, which would be the icing on the cake. (The ASET image, that is, not leakage... )

Looks good. Go for it.

Agreed, this looks good!

Yea, I'm not sure how to decipher those images from GCAL (brilliant, arrows, hearts, symmetry).

I figure they are supposed to serve the same purpose as ASET or Idealscope but not sure how comparable they are.

As a example in the "arrows" image there's like a circle of white where the arrows start in the center, not sure if that would be a problem.

Or in the Hearts image the tips of the hearts are not even. Not sure how that would affect the brilliance/fire

If you are expecting a "super ideal cut" then this stone is not the right stone for you b/c it is not a H&A stone.

I assume this is a man made stone, which is why the report is GCAL. although we aren't allowed to explicitly discuss those here, it's a very good performer compared to most acailable MMDs.

Also my presumption and my takeway: Very nice given the selection pool (of MMDs), but not true H&A by any standards.
