Hello all,
I am brand spankin' new here but have been reading everything I can get my hands on to make a smart decision. I have found a used 18k ring for sale for $2600 that I believe to be a good deal. I would have to have the diamond mounted on a different ring and sell this one to cover some of that cost so basically I am trying to buy the diamond but it comes with the ring.
The diamond is GIA certified Round Brilliant
measurements 5.82 - 5.85 x 3.57 mm

weight 0.72 carat
color grade F
clarity grade vvs2
cut grade excellent
clarity characteristics pinpoint
polish excellent
symmetry excellent
fluorescence none

We really only need or want something that is eye clean but certified by the big two and while this diamond soars past being merely just eye clean, I believe it to be a good value as well. It is my understanding that a loose diamond similar to this can easily sell for $4000-$4500 plus tax new. Are my conclusions accurate? Is this indeed a great buy?
Thank you all

Well I am fairly new here too but from what it looks like on paper it sounds like a good deal. But really the best thing is to look at the diamond in person. The paperwork is important, but its like buying a car, bluebook could say one thing, but in person can be a different story.

Get the GIA lab report number. We need that to help you make the decision.

The angles are a little borderline, HCA of over 3, but it might be better than that looking at the depth percentages and spread. An ideal scope would be useful.
