Hello all, been lurking the forums for a while, taking notes and I have been actively looking at loose diamonds (both online and through a wholesaler fraternity brother I went to school with). My buddy provided me with the following diamond and I wanted to get everyone's thoughts on the inclusion and how good/bad it is. It's a 2.01 carat round, certified GIA H-SI1. The inclusion scares me a bit but he says its in a perfect location. Currently have a price of $17,700. Thoughts?

Depth 61%
Table 58%
Cutlet: None
8.14 x 8.10 x 4.95

It is an ideal location for an inclusion since it looks like it could be covered by the prong but I'd have that confirmed by them. Also, could they provide you with an ideal scope image? It looks like a beautiful stone. If you can't get an ideal scope image, if you take the stone by a window, a good way to tell if the stone returns light is if you see a lot of white light return and are pleased with the performance, then go for it. If not, keep looking.

Do you have access to the GIA cert? You can plug the angles and % in here https://www.pricescope.com/tools/hca and get an idea of how it might perform if you are in doubt (a score under 2 is desirable). The next step is to get an idealscope image. Looks beautiful in the pic!

Looks pretty good.

Thank you everyone for the feedback. I was able to obtain the following ideal scope images, one showing hearts, one showing arrows. Let me know if anyone out there with more knowledge than myself (probably everyone on here) has any questions/comments, etc.

not a H&A stone.

Beautiful diamond but not a true H&A since the symmetry of the hearts and arrows are off.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that an H&A viewer and not an IdealScope? That won't really tell you anything about performance. Just symmetry.

2nd - that's not an idealscope, that's H&A views. And it isn't a true H&A stone.
