Here is a couple quick pictures I just took. Thoughts? I can get more pictures tomorrow in sunlight but just wanted to see what others thought so far. Thanks! It is a .85 D SI1
Looks to have strong centre facets and 'crushed ice' facets towards each end, which is a certain look.
Do you have it for assessment within a Returns period or have you purchased it outright?
The August Vintage Inc. Opulence Ovals are designed for improved light performance over 'standard' ovals - you could check them out for comparison purposes if nothing else.
Its really hard to evaluate an oval from a couple of pictures. Is the black line through the center always there? I'm withholding judgement until you post
more pics...
It does look like it has what we call 'bow-tie' effect across the middle facets, which members on this forum usually advise against, in my experience.
If you are still in the Returns period and would consider other stones, and are happy to post your budget and colour/clarity/carat size requirements, we can help you find other options
The color looks white. The oval is elongated which makes the diamond appear bigger than the actual carat weight. With the elongated oval cut there is the risk of a bigger bow tie. But I do not see a big bowtie in your stone as photographed in the last set of photos. A video would helps with this analysis. I do see the crushed ice facets above and below the bow tie. Do these flash light and sparkle in real life? Again a video would help. I think it is pretty.
