Hi all,

So, I've been engaged for a few months now but had issues with my engagement ring. It's been back twice for different revisions and this last time, a complete overhaul. I had the side stones upgraded to certified sides and the setting rebuilt. Anyway, thanks to everyone for your advice. A special thanks to Yssie, DreamerD, and DiamondSeeker for your expertise! PS has definitely guided me through this very frustrating process. I am happy with this version. I can now move on to other things such as looking for wedding bands. ;)

What a beautiful ring! I love it!!! Those ovals sure do sparkle!! :D

Looks Great. In my opinion, you picked perfect proportions.

I am glad your ring finally turned out the way you wanted. It is just exquisite in every way!!!

Thank you ladies for all the compliments! I am so happy that the headaches are over. For a while, I just wanted to throw in the towel but I'm glad I stuck it out.

As for stats, the center is 1.07 ct G VS1 with .29 ct D and E SI1's.
I was really concerned that the D and E would contrast my center but surprisingly it did not. The jeweler assured me the color differences would not be discernible and felt my center was really an F because it was so white. I had the opportunity to see the stones loose and with a fair amount of staring, I could see the D side stone was a bit whiter. However, after being set, it's very, very difficult to tell. I'm glad I listened to my fellow PSers' advice about buying according to the look of the stone not its paper!

@Laila - You are absolutely right about us being picky!

@DandiAndi - I'm thinking about a thin channel set band. A little extra bling without taking away from the ring.

Anyway, here's a not so good hand shot.

Thank you. I really like how their size definitely adds to the "bling" but without competing with the center.

The third time IS the charm, this ring is gorgeous!

Thanks N.E. Lady!

It looks wonderful! I am so glad I could be a little help in your journey. When you are picky, the road may be longer, but it is worth it because the end product is always great!

I am not totally surprised you can't see the difference between the DE and G(F) stones. The colorless family is much closer together than is the near colorless, so a step in color in that range is just not as visible to the naked eye.

I think a really thin channel set band would look great with your ring!

Hey Dreamer D,

Thank you for all your wisdom! As always, I believe you are correct about the colorless family. Craziest thing, my FI and I think the D is better match to my center than the E. I think it must be the way it's cut. Anyway, I'm just relieved and thrilled on how it turned out.

When I had the original ring, I tried on a 2 mm channel set band in Tiffany. We liked the way it looked so I'm hoping it looks just as great if not better with the wider band.

Thanks again for all your help!
