The Official TTC Thread!

NYC - Congrats! DH and I are headed to Mexico next month, hopefully it''s something in the water and we can catch it too! How great that you found out on your anniversary.

Congrats NYC!!! What timing, this is sure to be an anniversary to remember!

drk- I''ll be keeping you, your husband and your bean in my thoughts this week. Like you said (and we''ve all seen on here) brown spotting can mean nothing. Good luck!

Congrats NYC!!!

drk - I''ll be praying for you!

Hope everything''s going well for the rest of you!

Hi ladies-
Sorry I''ve been MIA for a while, this month has been crazy! Nothing much to report with me, I''m in the 2ww. AF should be here Sunday, we''ll see if I start spotting early like I have for the last couple of cycles. I decided to take it easy this month so I didn''t stalk my cycle or use preseed (caught my lh surge though so I know around when I ovulated). Anyway, I''ll be ready to jump back in the game next cycle! Just wanted to drop by and say "hi"!

drk- I''ve been wondering about you. Good luck, I''ll keep my fingers crossed that you get a rise in the beta.

drk - I''ve got my fingers crossed for you! Sending lots of sticky vibes your way!!

Question for you ladies...so, I''m on CD 17 and using my fertility monitor. I''ve gotten all lows so far (it''s my second month using it) and last month I got a few highs and then two peaks on CD 16 and CD 17. My CM is definitely EWCM today and I''ve been temping, but no O yet. Does the eggwhite mean I''m going to O in the next few days and if so, why hasn''t the monitor picked it up yet? Should I run out and buy some OPKs just in case the monitor is wrong? I feel silly spending all this money on OPKs if it''s not necessary. What do you think is happening here?

DH come home tonight at midnight...not sure how tired he''ll be, but there''s a slight chance we can BD.

My computer just lost an entire post. Arghh!

Blushing- I had the same thing happen with my monitor, I got an entire month of "low", but I was temping and knew that I ovulated. At first I thought it was the test strips, so I bought new ones, then I finally decided it was the monitor and quit using it. This past month we got pregnant without using it.
I would trust your EWCM and BD when he gets home. Tired? no excuse ha-ha.
Honestly, the monitor is great when it works but frustrating when it doesn''t. I did have a few months where it went from Low to Peak without any High days. I also think it''s a little psychological encouragement when you see the Peak (something about the picture of that egg!). Good luck!

DrK - my fingers are crossed for you!

NYC - congratulations! On your anniversary? Really, who is that lucky? So great!

Fisher and Peony - your patience and good humor are to be admired. The long cycle is so not fair.

Thanks, everyone, for taking part in my angst poll. I think the 2ww is worse for me, only because it is such a long stretch with nothing to break it up. Before O you''ve got AF to deal with, then changes in CM, and BDing of course. Things to keep the mind occupied. Whereas the 2ww is a never-ending stretch of open road with no exits, rest stops, not even another car for miles. That was a terrible metaphor.

Don''t get me wrong, it''s all good angst and happy, fun times. Just frustrating every now and again.

Thanks Tiffany...I''m happy to hear I''m not the only one who has experienced this. The whole reason I got the monitor was because I had trouble reading the OPKs and wanted to take the guess work out of things...so much for that!

So, the month you got pregnant did you use OPKs or just temped?

Hello all!

NYC - CONGRATS! Many many sticky vibes to you!! As for how many cycles...I got prego on my first month of charting and temping, but it wasn''t a sticky...we took a cycle off, and her we are on cycle 2 of trying. So who knows what this cycle holds.

Kate - Sticky sticky vibes for you!!!! Prayers outgoing!!

BB - I haven''t used any sort of ovulation monitor, so I can''t be of much help...Sorry! BUT I did want to chime in and say I hope you O soon!!! And I''d guess that all the travel and red-eye (YUCK) messed with your cycle a bit.

Also, I can''t remember - do you temp?

festy - I''m like you. I HATE HATE HATE the tww. HATE it. You can at least be proactive before O...but after, just waiting. and, um, I''m not a good waiter!!!

Am - Good to see you!

As for me, well, I''m at CD 10 today. Yesterday I was CD 9...I''m 99% sure I''m not O''ing anytime soon...on account of the fact that I am still about a week before my normal O date and I don''t have sore nips, which I pretty much have like clockwork for the day before I O and a couple days after...of course, we DTD last night *just* in case!

On a superfunawesome note, my bestie from high school and her wife are coming up to visit for the weekend! I''m super excited to see them - we haven''t hung out in forevers, so that''ll be fun!

Ooh, DrK, I''m keeping my fingers crossed for you! It''s still early, so I wouldn''t be too worried about the number being low.

Blushing- Right now I am just temping. Last month, when I got pregnant, I did use an OPK more out of curiousity than anything. I have been very consistently ovulating between CD 15 and CD 17 for the last year, but August was a wonky cycle and I didn''t O until CD 19, so last month I decided to try an OPK. I used the first response one, but I agree that the lines are sometimes difficult to decipher. With opk''s it has to be darker than the control, but with pregnancy tests a line is a line. OPK''s are harder to read I think. This month I probably won''t use anything.

Lysser- I''m with you and Festy. I HATE the tww. Have fun this weekend!!

CONGRATS NYC and DRK!!!!

Mayjah stickies to both of you!

Kate - praying for a good healthy rise in your betas. wink.

DRK, that''s great news. I know it must be scary at the beginning, what with the numbers and all, but it is good news!! I''m hoping that your numbers shoot up at tomorrow''s next reading!

Yay!

Congratulations NYC and DRK!

DRK, fingers crossed that number doubles properly for you! Good thoughts and sticky dust coming your way.

Well, I'm back from the RE with a much more positive attitude about my next pregnancy. He explained the main reasons for miscarriage (70 percent chromosomal), my chances of having a normal pregnancy (the same as for women who haven't had a miscarriage), and tests we could run if I choose. He also patiently answered all of my questions and didn't once glance at his watch, which was wonderful.

That's the cliffsnotes version, of course, but to type everything out would a) take forever and b) likely be boring to all of you! What matters is that he said he was highly optimistic this next pregnancy will be perfectly healthy (based on my age, husband's age, and health), and if it isn't, for whatever reason, we have options.

So, here's to being positive! I'm very comfortable with him and with the fact that this next pregnancy will be closely monitored.

That is precious!

Have you told him he''s going to be a brother yet? Do you think he "gets it" yet?

OH EBREE I''m so happy to hear youre update. I''m really crossing my fingers for you. I think about you and all that you''ve gone through...and I know how scary it all must be. I''m thrilled to hear your confidence level and that you are happy with your RE. YEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Drk, I''m sending sticky dust your way!

Yay Ebree for a reassuring appt.!

NYC, that''s so cute!

Still in the 2ww here, 6dpo. I can feel myself starting to get my hopes way up, which I know I shouldn''t, but it''s so hard when my chart was so wonky at first, but now I have a nice, even pattern after O.

I am tentatively excited, everyone!! I got crosshairs when I posted today's temperature on FF.

YIPPEE!!

I'm still nervous, since my last cycle had a fake out O day just one day before this cycle's (CD 20 this time, and the fake out was CD 19 last cycle and ended up being a *real* O on CD 26).

Anyway, here's my crosshairs in all their glory.

I'm hoping that it doesn't move forward a week this time.

I am also wondering if it's a bad thing that so many of my temps pre-O are above the crosshairs this cycle. Is that normal or okay?

Should I perhaps be concerned that this it is "normal" for me to have a fake out O each cycle? I think with this O being so close to the previous fake O, now I'm thinking I'm confused. Hahaha. Imagine that. Me confused.

My temps have definitely been more erratic this cycle, that's for sure.

Sabine,

I totally understand where you are right now. It''s so incredibly easy to find reasons to be hopeful.

I''m really hoping that your feelings are right, though.

Fisher I think it looks promising! The erratic temps could be caused by anything and isn''t a casue for concern except that it makes it more difficult to pinpoint an exact o-date! You have covered your based really well over the last 10 days, but I would totally suggest you keep up EOD if you can until it becomes crystal clear that you in fact O''d... it is possible, with erratic temps, then it actually happened a few days earlier or later than you expected, and fake-outs do happen as you know! LOL!! But it looks good! I think with about 5-6 higher temps you can be fairly confident that you timed the BD marathon to catch the egg, but which exact day you ovulated won''t be clear!!

Yay Ebree!

NYC, that''s so cute about telling with the cards and it''s awesome that you only have to wait 2 weeks for your appointment!

Fisher, yay for your crosshairs! I actually think it might move them to cd21 if your temp stays the same or is higher tomorrow, but either way, your timing would be awesome! Yay!

Sabine, your chart looks so pretty! If we both get pregnant this cycle, we''d be due 1 day apart! That would be awesome! Then when you guys eventually move back to the burgh our kids could grow up to be bffs and even go out together for their 21sts! Haha, ok, I''m getting ahead of myself...

Today''s the day that I would''ve had my first appointment if I hadn''t miscarried. I''m sad, but not nearly as sad as I thought I''d be and I haven''t cried about it in a while. I''m feeling really good about my chart. My temps are the highest they''ve been at this point (5dpo) in the last 11 cycles except for one where I was really sick and had a fever. I have a bit of a cold now, so I guess it cold be from that, but I''m hoping that it''s a good sign. My temp isn''t super high, only 98.1, but for me, that''s still high. On my bfp cycle I only had one temp above 97.9 before I stopped temping at 12dpo.

Fisher - Just wanted to pop in and let you know that my temps are pretty erratic as well. Sometimes varying as much .5 degrees on a single day. I didn't really have many problems with it in terms of deciding when my O date was, but FF kept switching my O date between CD 17 and 18.

Interestingly enough, after I O'd my temps were MUCH less erratic. And after my implantation dip, and my chart went triphasic, I had basically no variance of temperature at all.

Ebree - Glad you like your RE - liking your doc is just so huge! And I'm glad he was positive!!

Robbie - I was a bit down on the day of my appointment as well...it sort of brought the whole thing back up again...and just made me blue. It stinks...

As for me, I'm having some wonky CM...I really think it is EWCM, but it seems like it is WAY too early in my cycle for EWCM. Very strange. I don't know what is going on. Maybe the m/c messed up my cycle and I'll O earlier? I don't know. My cervix has also been really high pretty much all month...so I don't know what is going on. Anyone have any thoughts?
