Home The Official TTC Thread!

Steph, that is TOO cute!!

Quick Question...When everyone says they are using the ''Internet Pregnancy Tests'' are most people getting them from early-pregnancy-tests.com? Or did anyone use the babywishes.org ones? Those were where I ordered the OPK sticks and Regular pregnancy tests from last month (because peeonastick showed the OPKs day by day, so I had a better idea of what to look for...)...and if i''m not pregnant this month, then I was thinking of ordering babywishes 10-15 MIU Early Pregnancy test strips because they are $2.00 vs the $10 or more for the FRER ones! Last month I did buy CVS''s version of FRER, but wasn''t pregnant, so don''t know how they compared to the FRERs...Of course the regular babywishes ones are supposed to be sensitive to 20 miu...

Oh, and congrats Robbie!

Good Morning! Sorry I''ve been MIA too - I was barely in the office last week and was visiting my fam this weekend to celebrate my birthday which is actually today!
36.gif

The only thing that stinks is that I''m sick - it''s a real bummer to be sick on you birthday.
39.gif
So, I had to come into the office today since I have so much to catch up on from last week. *sigh* OK - my pitty party is over!
2.gif

Robbie - congrats on seeing "preggers" on your digi! That must be one of those moments where you step back and say WOW!!!!

NYC - sorry for the return of AFF - she''s a killer isnt she? Have a blast in Mexico and best of luck next cycle!

Mela - you are too funny...royalty? LOL...that''s such a sweet compliment! I know, even though this is only our third cycle (second if you don''t count our hodge podge vacation cycle), I feel like I''ve been on this thread forever!
3.gif
I have to say, it''s been hard watching everyone come and go, but I know my day will come soon. If anyone should be an inspiration to all of us TTCer''s it should be our Lisa! If she can do it, anyone can! Anyway, I can''t wait to follow along with you in the preggos thread...I''m sooooooo freak''n happy for you!!!!

Am04 - my OPK was pretty strong the day after my *peak* reading which was considered a *high* day. Not sure what that means, but if this is not my cycle, next cycle I''m going to buy the digi OPKs that come in a pack of 7.

Ebree - best of luck to you in catching that egg!

Fisher - ugh, I''m sure all this waiting is driving you batty! Like you said, this was a great cycle for you not matter what happens!

Amber - thinking of you and hope you stop by to say hello!
35.gif

Peony - that''s wonderful news about the Fertell test! I may also look into that if AFF shows her ugly face this cycle. I''m sure it would just give us extra peace of mind. Although, DH is so clueless with all this, that I''m not sure how I would approach him about the subject without making him feel anxious.
33.gif

Novemberbride - WELCOME!
35.gif
I hope you find this thread useful!

cdt1101 - your DH is just like mine - mine doesn''t want to know the BD plans. He wants to be spontaneous and do things "the old fashion way." Which is fine by me since I''ll just vent, analize and educate myself w/ you gals on this thread!
27.gif

steph72276 - How precious is your son? WELCOME!
35.gif

As for me, today is 6 DPO - I''m supposed to test next Monday, so we''ll see how long I actually wait.

I bought mine on the UK ebay - here''s a link to their ICs.

I don''t think they''re as sensitive as advertised - but they didn''t do evaps or false + and they were so cheap I felt I could merrily POAS from 8DPO onwards (and sometimes twice in a day

Hey guys, just checking in.

First - Congrats Robbie! Lots of sticky vibes going your way.

Second - Happy Birthday BB! Hope you feel better too!

Am - for what it is worth, I had cramping and brown CM - only when I checked it, never on the TP, for several days before I got my BFP. The discharge would sort of come and go.

Fisher - Did you test today?

Welcome November bride and Stephanie!

Ebree - Hope your TWW is fruitful! Good vibes going your way.

Brgirl - I got my first BFP from the CVS early tests. I did not have good luck with the early pregnancy tests.com tests.

As for me, well, things are alright. Emotionally and physically I'm feeling pretty alright. A bit negative, which is why I've steered clear of PS. I have become quite the TTC Debbie Downer. The thought of going through all that crap and heartache again is a bit scary and I don't want to project that onto you guys...but we'll get working on Version 2.0 soon. DH is a computer geek, and after everything that happened, he said, well, everyone knows version 2.0 is better anyway. He's a dork. But he makes me laugh.

I had a bit of EWCM yesterday, which I'm happy about because my cycle seems to be regulating itself pretty well. Interestingly, I had an appointment with my Gastro Doc last week and she said she was surprised that the OB wanted me to wait a cycle, considering that it was essentially a chemical prego and such. But oh well.

Anyway, that's the latest...

Dust to everyone!!!

Thanks for all the nice welcomes...wow, this thread moves fast. Good luck to everyone out there testing soon

Yeah, they''re cheap (.84 each), and I HAD 10 of them...but now i''m down to 7. That doesn''t seem like enough...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BLUSHING!!!!!!!

I hope you feel better and your DH spoils you rotten! Good luck waiting to POAS. Wouldn''t a BFP be a GREAT belated b-day gift

Hi to everyone!! I''m following all your stories and want to wish you all the luck in the world! Baby dust for all!!
LittleL - it will get better, I promise. And once you do start cooking version 2.0, I swear, you won''t even be sad about your previous loss because this one, THIS ONE, is the one for you ;)

...or at least, that''s what I''ve told myself and it seems to be working
9.gif
. Just keep practicing until
11.gif

PS. LittleL - I''m going to be designing a new ring for myself, and I''d love to hear your opinion (everyone''s for that matter) when I finish sketching and upload everything. Jewelry is such a great distraction from life, non?

Happy Birthday Blushing!

LittleL, glad to see you around again! Don''t be afraid of being a debbie downer, we''re happy to have you here no matter what, and there''s nothing wrong with feeling the way you do.

Sorry in advance for the slew of questions, but here goes...

Where did you guys get thermometers that go to two decimal places? I''ve now looked at 2 pharmacies (CVS and Walgreens), a grocery store, and a Navy Exchange store. None of them had thermometers with 2 decimal places.

Do you need a special type of thermometer to take a temp. vaginally? I don''t know if orally is going to work for me even if I find a thermometer because I''m a mouth breather.

Has anyone taken their temp. under the arm? I think I''d be more comfortable doing this in bed first thing than vaginally...but don''t know if it''s accurate.

Finally, how many of you actually use a lubricant specifically for ttc? DH and I prefer to use lube, but the only stuff I''ve found is Pre-Conceive at CVS, and it was $20, and money is a bit tight right now...

Congrats again, Robbie, this time on it being "official"!

Happy Birthday Blushing!

LIttleL- So glad you checked in, have been thinking about you. I totally understand being scared- the whole thing is scary in general, plus what you''ve been through. Hopefully time will do it''s job. Hope you stick around. We are here for you!

I''ve got nothing to add. This is my second cycle off the BCP, so just trying to pay more attention to my body and try to figure out if/when I am ovulating. Not temping or anything. So far I have noticed that my skin is breaking out much more (pretty oily and BCP helped) but my sex drive has returned in force, thankfully. I really notice a difference. So weird.

Mela- I think we have the same name (or close to it). I saw your reference to it on the preggo thread! I spell mine differently, but same name. Weird, the only people that ever have my name seem to be check-out clerks at the grocery store.

HI to everyone else. It''s so much fun reading your journeys. Fisher, you crack me up. I wonder what it must be live to live inside your head for a day. Lots going on up there!!! Amber, how are you doing?

Happy Monday all! Who''s next???

I got my thermometers at both Riteaid and CVS. It is purple and specifically says basal body thermometer. It was by the pregnancy tests and stuff.
I don''t think you can take it under the arm...

The Pre-seed is $14.99 at earlypregnancytests.com....

I bought one at Walgreen''s (which I broke trying to replace the battery) and then found one at Target. It seems odd that neither of those places had them. We have been using Preseed.
I don''t think you can take the temp axillary.

I bought a Basal Body Thermometer, 6 pack of Pre-seed and 20 IC (plus got another 20 for free) all in one go on ebay.

I think you can use the same thermometer for all places to temp.

Thanks brgirl, tiffanytwisted, and pandora! I guess I will have to keep looking, although I definitely checked the pregnancy test aisle, the first aid aisle, and the baby care aisle, and even asked if they had any more thermometers at CVS!

China and Mela, that''s cool that you have similar names!

Sabine, I think I checked at 2 different CVS''s and didn''t see BBTs at either. I finally bought mine at Meijers, which is kind of like Walmart.

Good luck to everyone!

Happy, happy birthday, Blushing!

I hope you''re feeling better by now and I hope you get a GIANT birthday present soon (say, a week from now???)!

LL,

I''m glad you checked in. I''ve been thinking about you, sweetie. Hope version 2.0 rocks it hard core and comes along soon for you two!!

I haven''t taken a test yet. I guess after the negative, I kind of feel defeated, so I''m trying to lay off and see what happens with my cycle. Tomorrow will be day 14 post-ovulation. I might test tomorrow, but I''m not sure. I may wait and see if my temp drops and if it doesn''t by the middle of the week, test then. I don''t know how long my LP is, so why get myself set up for more sadness? That''s the way I''m looking at it now.

Besides, I only have those three tests left and I''d hate to run out and then *really* need one at the end of the week when there''s no AF and my temp''s still soaring high (hopeful thought!!).
****
Steph,

Welcome and what a precious comment from your little boy (who is adorable, by the way!).

****
Chinacat,

Yeah, my mind is a whirlwind. I should probably censor what I post around here. It makes me look nutty, but hey, it''s me. I''m an analyzer. Too much so. But at least it''s not boring being me. Mostly not, anyway.

Good luck figuring out your cycle. It''s kind of fun feeling somewhat "normal" once you know you''ve dropped an egg.

****
Sabine,

I got mine at Walgreen''s. It''s white and pink. It saves up to 5 temps. It takes FOREVER to get the temp. to register and finally beep, but I think that''s standard for BBTs. The card it came on has a little bald baby being held by a mother, so it''s pretty obvious it''s a thermometer for baby making. Made it easy to find. I look for all things *B*A*B*Y*.

You really don''t need a thermometer with two decimals unless you want it
3.gif
One decimal is more than sensitive enough for charting, since you are really only interested in shifts that are multiples of 10ths of degrees anyways. TCOYF actually says ignore the second decimal, it is very error prone (100ths of a degree man!) and only makes it harder to see a pattern if you get too caught up in it.

You can use the same BBT thermometer for vaginally. Under the arm is not a good place for BBT temping, it probably will not be sensistive enough to your body fluctuations, but you can always try both and see how the correlate each day, just take the vaginal one first since it should be the benchmark for accuracy.

Finally, how many of you actually use a lubricant specifically for ttc? DH and I prefer to use lube, but the only stuff I''ve found is Pre-Conceive at CVS, and it was $20, and money is a bit tight right now...
We also prefer lube but we didnt use anything when TTC... this is a little TMI, but when you have fertile CF, if you kind of "move it" down from near your cervix it may be enough lube for you, that''s what we found anyways...

I'm so sorry - but it's not over till AF arrives.

Check some of the pg charts on FF - lots of people didn't get a + test till 16/18 DPO.

Can you post your chart?

Yes, I know I''m getting defeated too early, but I''m just so tired of having this hopeful spirit and it doesn''t pay off. Now doesn''t that make me sound like a selfish snot?

I don''t mean to be, I just get too emotionally involved. Everyone says that to me. But how can you *not* be, when you''re thinking of the creation of your child? Your child? I can''t not be emotionally involved. I just can''t.

Paul thinks maybe charting is making me too upset, but I think it''s the other way. Now I at least know when to be testing. I think.

My new fear is that I have some sort of hormonal issue that prevents LP from stopping. I know, insane. I read about long LPs and apparently it can mean you don''t make enough progesterone, or that you have an Ph issue or something of that nature.

Whoo hoo. Another thing to stress about.

But, I did (most probably) drop an egg!!
9.gif

So, for that I am happy!!

Fisher - your chart looks great!

On the LP, at least you know that yours is long enough to support a pregnancy.

I know exactly how you feel on the hope and sadness with each test - you wouldn''t believe how much I cried the first time round. But believe me - you will get that line!

Sending you big hugs!

Fisher your chart is gorgeous, there is no question AT ALL that you ovulatated... look at that bi-phasic pattern my friend! Normal and healthy LPs can be as long as 16 or 17 days, so you are no where near worry zone yet. And it is also normal and healthy to to not get an BFP until 18 DPO or later, Divadiamond who just had her baby didn''t find out until really late, she kept getting BFNs. You may be preggo, but if you are not this month it isn''t because of anything physcial it is because of two things: 1) that tricky fake-out got you only one little BD session in, and it may have been too late for the egg, and 2) IT TAKES A LONG TIME TO GET PREGGO! This is your second cycle trying, I know it hurts, I know the agony, I have felt it too! But you need to remind yourself that it takes TIME every time you feel down. You are healthy and now you have a really good idea of when you ovulate and what the signs look like (you know what you persoanl fertile CF looks like, you know that you shouldn''t stop BD until you get a temp shift into the 98s). Charting is great, you wouldn''t know either of those things without charting. Just IMAGINE how you would feel right now if you didn''t know you ovulated this month and if you didn''t know you (might have) missed the egg?? I bet you''d feel worse. I think it is funny that Paul blame''s charting... is he against knowledge
2.gif
tee hee

Let''s say your friend came crying to you about becoming pregnant after only 1 cycle of trying and with a lovely chart like yours... what would you say to her? You need to be your own best friend right now and say the same things to yourself. And then believe them!
