Ed''s boss was threatening to fire him if he did not get back to work, so Ed left. My thought is that these shows so rarely work out and that she and Ed might have a better chance of making it after the show ends and she has inevitably broken up with whomever she chooses, but maybe I''m just too cynical.

For me, the most shocking thing about tonight''s show was the preview for next week where they apparently tell the entire world that one of the men had ''performance'' issues in the fantasy suite!

Thank you!! I liked Ed. I agree, though, that it probably has a better chance of working outside of the show. Don''t think that''s cynical at all.

The tornado stuff ended just in time for previews and I, too, was shocked at the insinuation of "performance" issues.

I know, I couldn''t believe that. Totally, what guy wants that info broadcasted!!

I missed the first hour..was outside enjoying nature since we finally had a beautiful, HOT day!
The best part of the show was the scenery, Whister, and the Rockies..heaven on earth, it just doesn''t get any better that that!
I did see a recap of Wes, complaining about trying to ski (it wasn''t even downhill..just lame old cross-country). I guess he should stick to music ...poor Texan boy!
The show was rather boring again...*yawn*...and I can''t say I was surprised when Ed up and left! I''d choose the job over the girl too! My husband watched a few minutes of it (these type of shows make him laugh), and he thought Ed just wasn''t "into her"..and though there "wasn''t anything great about Jillian that would make him want to stay, so I could see why Ed would want to leave too". I guess it''s good to get a male''s perspective. Poor Jillian..will she ever find true love?? Not looking too good right now!!

I was surprised at how upset Jillian got when Ed left. He gave her fair warning, and although it would be nice to think a guy would be willing to give up anything to be with her, it would be a pretty stupid decision in Ed''s case since these things so rarely work out.

I liked Ed, but thought he looked totally different when his hair was flat or spiked...weird

I didn''t even know the name of the guy she sent home last night or remember anything about him. Tanner and Wes need to go home.

Did anyone else think Jillian was TOTALLY drunk at the end of her group date? The whole dancing on the table and her whole time with Kiptyn it seemed like she was totally making a fool of herself drunk. I guess there''s nothing wrong with that, but that is not the kind of state I would want to be in when trying to get to know a guy I might marry, or when I''m on national tv.

the whole ''fantasy suite'' thing when there''s still 8 guys kinda repulses me - so much for true love!

i always wanted to think that they didn''t really have sex with EVERY guy who made it to a fantasy suite date; that''s just too much like being auctioned off, in my book. the idea that some guy who was one of a group of 30, and who is still one of 8, is sleeping with her after a few weeks, is kinda....well, to me? immoral. sorry, but there it is. way too much, way too soon.

as for the whole performance issue thing, what genuine guy WOULDNT?? they dont KNOW this girl, and there''s still some guys out there who associate arousal with familiarity and emotional intimacy. perhaps the fact that she''s a bit of an airhead for some guys, on a deeper level, has nixed the connection, subconsciously, if not consciously.

and yes, i thought she was drunk at the group date.

i''m most interested in seeing wes out himself next week. last night, at the very end in the shorts for next week, did he actually say that ''he was fine with going home now cause he''d been there a few weeks and had promoted his music, and that was enough''?? did he actually SAY that?

ooy.

WHY is Wes still there? Am I the only one who cannot stand him? He seems SO fake!

Yeah, I think she was a bit tipsy on the group date, too. The whole "I like you...do you like me?" thing with Kiptyn...ugh!

And, Wes is BUGGIN'' and needs to go home. He even mentioned he had a CD coming out...puh lease. I hope NO ONE buys that stupid CD.

Bummed about Ed. But, I can''t believe she made such an issue about it. I think it was more the feeling of rejection that he wouldn''t stay over a job than her actually liking him that much.

I thought Jesse was pretty cute!!!

I agree, and it was not the first episode where I noticed that. How embarrassing.

I also agree with Whitby that it is really tacky to have overnight dates with so many men left.

I think Julian was sad not because of how much she liked Ed, but because she would never know what could have happened between them if he had stayed.

Wes and foot guy need to go!

I agree with whitby about the fantasy suite thing. Don''t overnight dates usually start later?

Reality Steve says Ed is coming back & that his leaving was all scripted by the producers (rather than motivated by his true job). Notice the "I''m gonna keep this rose" business ... foreshadowing. Also, why would they show her crushed like its her one true love if they weren''t gonna "resolve" this drama later in the season. You don''t show a gun in the first act if you''re not gonna shoot it by the third.

Anyhoo -- fakie mc fake-a-lot. The whole bunch of ''em. I bet even Wes''s whole "here for publicity" angle is amp''d up by the producers so "we" know more than "she". Like a horror movie where you see the guy lurking behind the heroine and you''re screaming RUN RUN RUN.

They are playing the audience like Chopsticks on a toy piano. Bleck.

Am I the only one who thinks Wes''s song kinda sucks? He makes me vomit in my mouth.

whitby- at first I thought the exact same thing as you about the fantasy suites being so early on... that (sad to admit it) I even rewound my DVR to watch the preview again. I realized watching the second time they said coming up this SEASON on the bachelorette... so probably a lot of those juicy previews they showed we won''t get to see for a while.

Now, I know it''s been said here time and time again, but it''s bothering me more than normal this year how unrealistic the whole situation is. (talk about stating the obvious, I know). But really-- what are the odds in REAL life that 30 reasonably attractive & successful men would ALL be interested in the same woman? I mean, of course I''ve thought this before (and vice versa for all the women and one man) but it''s bothering me even more than normal this season.
Hasn''t stopped me from tuning in though!

I know I stood up for Jillian earlier when I said that she deserves love even if she isn't the best-looking girl in the world, but I just can't take it any longer.
I no longer have any use for her.

This show becomes more difficult to watch every.single.week. It seems like she has this arbitrary set of criteria for her partner: Must have had heart broken, must want to be best friends, must worship me, insert ridiculous superficial notion of what is important here. I can't take it.

I still adore Michael, I think he's so sweet and funny. Jake is still a hottie, and he seems genuine.

Jesse seems like the ultimate competitor, so I imagine he very much wants to "win" this one.

Wes, Kiptyn, Ed, meh. Ed was cute, but he seemed kind of boring.

DH and I have been watching this show for years, we usually have so much fun musing on relationships and whiel were watching, but this season we can't even stomach a full episode. There were a couple we didn't watch in the past--like that guy who had a well-known brother. He had NOTHING to say for himself. I wonder if he's single, they should set HIM up with Jillian.

Wanted to add, I also really like Michael! He is young, but seems so genuine. You can tell Jillian isn't fully feeling it though... I guess he's not "bad boy" enough for her.
The odds of anything actually working out of this one are seeming slimmer and slimmer.

hi jen. :)

i''m glad to hear it but... why doesnt that make me feel any better? the whole concept is a bit of a worry really... for 29, she seems rather immature to me, so chances of it working seem veeerrryyy slim....

haha, whitby I completely agree.

And ditto to Haven that she seems to have this nearly set in stone but arbitrary checklist for the men that drives me crazy.

Whitby--Ha! about your sig line, that''s really funny . . . and sweet, in a way that I can''t really articulate.

AND, I totally understand what you meant by mentioning her looks, now. Thank you for clarifying! I didn''t mean to sound confrontational, it was more of a tender moment where I felt the need to stick up for all of us plain-looking girls in the world. (Though, Jillian is not really a plain-looking girl if you ask me.) We deserve love, too!

Anyway, isn''t the show on again tonight? I''m excited! Let''s hope it''s more exciting than last week.

y''know, haven....

since i last responded to your comment, and you made the above response which i highlighted....i''ve seen your photo!!! ''all us plain looking girls'' phshaw!! you''re a gorgeous looking girl! ''plain looking'' indeed! twaddle, missy! you''re lovely!!

You''re too kind, Whitby, thank you. And I love the word twaddle!

I agree that success is not likely here, and Jillian does seem immature for her age, doesn''t she?
She''s also a bit self-righteous, with all the "I''m not looking for the typical things every other girl wants" bits. Can you tell I am so over her?!

So according to the online boards Ed owns his own company - aka HE IS THE BOSS, so it''s all bologna! There''s even a link to his company with his profile but you have to search it online (Don''t want to get in trouble posting the link)
Word is he will return (hence the rose)...I guess we will have to wait and see...LOL!

Even Jillian can''t believe that she is actually going to find true love on TV, right? ITA with everyone who was saying that there is no way 30 guys would be vying for this chick. She seems nice and all, but seriously? Most of them would not have given her another thought if they met her out socially. And I am super prude, so the idea of KISSING all of these guys weirds me out enough, I can''t even fathom the fantasy suite,
38.gif
. I feel the same way about the Bachelor, too, in case anyone thought I was being sexist
2.gif

UGH. These shows really corrupt our concept of love and marriage. I hope the next Bachelor/Bachelorette features gay or lesbian couples... you know, equality and all!

And Ed was smart to leave. 1/8 chance to ''win'' the show, 100% chance of keeping/losing employment. Easy choice.

I was just about to say I hear Ed comes back but what''s this you say? He has his own business? That seems fishy then. Here I was thinking he comes back because he has actual feelings for her worth exploring but now....I''m confused

Just thought I''d let those of you who like Michael know that he went to high school with my daughter and she''s says he''s a complete and utter @ss in real life.

Michael the dancing loud guy? I think he''s completely immature. He doesn''t seem like marriage material AT ALL to me.

This was predicatble after the end of last season. Though, IMO, if anyone is still allowing this show to surprise you after last season, it''s their own naivety.

This show is not reality, and is now remarkably close to an entire episode of the Hills dedicated to trying to find a LC a husband. Everyone just seems so immature. Like Haven said, it''s very hard to actaully believe this girl is going to find a husband, much less love or even a lasting relationship, when she is about as superficial as they come.

Yes... my TIVO is still set...
9.gif
I just want to see to laugh... is that bad...

I agree. I don''t think it''s going to work out for Jil. She doesn''t even seem that serious about it to me. I don''t get the vibe that she has a great connection with anyone really. Just that STUPID Wes. And if she could have feelings for him and not see the true guy, then she isn''t serious about finding true love IMO. Not to mention, Chris never talked once in previews about the finale...."Will he propose? And if so...will she say yes?" or anything in that sort.

Who''s Michael? I guess he didn''t stand out to me, I didn''t even though there was a "Michael" in the running!
I think I''ll pass on the show this evening, and take my dad out of his hospital room for some fresh air instead!!
