Hi all,
A while back I posted a question about some stones on Blue Nile.

Well I got a lot of negative vibes towards those stones so I figured it was time to hit the road and look at some diamonds!
I live not too far from Atlanta so I drove in to town to see Solomon Brothers, a PriceScope vendor. Lisa Mattingly helped me look through stones and we found two great choices. The first was an I-color SI1, GIA Excellent Cut with H&A, 1.03 ct stone that was eye-clean. It had gorgeous
optics but a bit of a warmish hue. The second was a G-color SI2, GIA Excellent cut w/ H&A, 1.00 ct stone. It wasn't eye-clean but the crystal was very close to the outside of the stone and their jeweler said it can be easily hidden under a prong. The optics were *almost* as good as the I-color, the I was slightly more fiery but the G was whiter (but both were soooooo beautiful)! In the end I bought the G-color ($5200), they will set it and on the off chance that I can still see that crystal they can switch it to the I, which they are holding for a few days until I can look at the stone in its setting. The diamond is so pretty and she will love it (and the secret of the hidden crystal dies with me!)
