Sugarloafs, carvings, & cabs! Share your best non-faceted gems!

Thanks @femmemannequin @Efleon @lala646 !

Since carvings are included, wanted to share this jadeite necklace carved from a single piece of stone. I also have a similar bracelet but the carving for this necklace is much nicer.

There is no clasp so to wear you basically put over your head.

Hard to tell (at least to me) but the carving is a chili.

So I think it’s actually quite nice if it’s just a chain? Maybe if I ever have a chance to do a custom I may just do simple chain instead... or break off the chili??!

Bad pictures (need to get some daylight shots) but this bracelet has carved emeralds surrounded by rubies and polki diamonds. The back is enameled.
Also love my mums moon stone necklace but it needs to be repaired so I think i’m just going to sell off the stones.

Late to the party on this one. Here's my garnet set in gold. It's usually on the darker side while indoors, but when the sun hits it just right, look out! A196C44E-8DB7-4AAE-AED9-ABBDA6028810.jpeg11AACAA6-5DB3-4037-A5D2-BA7811DE3CE2.jpeg

I love cabs! Here are some of mine.

I love your collection and the workmanship seems excellent! Reminds me of the Pomellato nudo collection (though those seem slightly faceted)

I'll play -- 2 james Meyers (sapphire, and then jade) and a Diana Vincent (sugarloaf tourmaline)

I think you get the award for most exotic cab! :kiss2:

In a way, I probably do. That particular stone was collected on Isle Royale (which is a national park in the middle of Lake Superior) a long, long time ago, when it was still legal to remove stones from the park. It hasn’t been legal to do so for decades. As such, the Chlorastrolite that you see for sale today comes from the Keewenaw Peninsula in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

I can honestly say this is my very first introduction to that gem type, and I'm pretty well traveled! Very cool!!

Great collection! That's a lovely carved aqua. Beautiful and very unusual. Does it have a story?

Thank you. It definitely is my favorite of the 3 I posted.

I bought it on eBay 20 years ago because I fell in love with it. Subsequently, I went through a divorce and had to sell much of my collection to put my kids through college. This was one of the few pieces I couldn’t or wouldn’t part with.

I am finally in a position to buy a few pieces, and have gone a bit crazy. I recently opened my safety deposit box, and there was my old friend, glowing back at me!

I took her to my local jeweler and she refreshed her for me. When I saw this sub, I wanted to share her beauty. I believe she is old as she is mounted in silver with a gold shank. There are 4 tiny aquas at the corners. My jeweler concurs.View attachment 882988

I have two more I can add, my blue/grey/lavender star sapphire and chalcedony.
