What do you think. I have short fingers. I have been wondering lately if shorter fingers suit lower set rings. The reason
I thought it is, I was at a jeweller once and asking to try on 3 stone rings, I had no rings on (so not their idea of what I
liked), so I tried on an emerald centre three stone, quite low set which they showed me, then I asked to see a three stone ring
with round stones which was in the window display. The assistant brought it over and then said 'oh no, it is a high set ring' and
I was thinking, 'that is why I wanted to try it on' because I like higher settings rather than lower, not too high and this ring was not
very high just normal like maybe 6 or 7 mm.

So why did they say this, is it normal in jewellery stores for higher set rings to be bought by people with longer fingers, I am also
5 feet tall so does height have to do with it too.

I know we can wear what we want, really, but what do you think? Oh and by the way the stones were small about half carat centre.

I have no idea why she would say that. 6 mm is very normal for a three stone with gallery work, IMO. Maybe it was because of stone size?

Thanks SMilligan. I think maybe it was just her own opinion but I thought sales assistants were not supposed to show personal dislikes.
Don't think it was size as this was years ago and in the UK this is quite a popular size of stone.

I just wondered if maybe high set rings do look best on longer fingers, I also have quite wide hands so maybe that too. I am going
to look at hands and rings and see what I think, although I know long finger slender hands are going to look best as that is what
a hand model would have. My fingers are slender but the hands short and wide I would say. Maybe three stone rings would
emphasize the width of my hand so it doesn't suit too well when on a shorter finger hand too. Just wondering.

People are people and sometimes personal opinions are going to come out. ;) I don't see any reason why a high setting would work best for longer fingers. I prefer lower settings, personally, but it's all preference. I think 6-7 mm is about as high as I would be comfortable with. Settings that are 8-9 mm high are too much, IMO.

I have never heard any kind of correlation between stone height and length of fingers. I would avoid diamonds being set too high because of the greater danger of them hitting on things and possibly getting chipped or damaged. But other than that, get what looks best to you!

Thanks. Yes I'll just please myself:)

I haven't been able to get onto Pricescope today until now, 9.11pm UK time. My computer was saying
My SQL14 error 111. Been all over the place trying to find out about it and gave up. Now I log in and
get onto Pricescope first time.

Pyramid: I had the same problem.. I thought they may have been hacked although the error sounded real.. (sql).
