Ahhh, HA HA HA !!!!
I have just been trying to catch the gleam !!!!
You have NO IDEA how many pictures I have taken of my different stones trying to get the spark.
You do it so much better ~ I am trying to catch up !!!!


Here is a picture I took in my computer room with light coming in through the window.
I can't remember if I had the monitor turned toward the light or not, but I think I was
trying to get the stone in the light a bit...
I was trying to see if I could capture the color of the pear next to the color chart,
I think it's a fail, but see what you think......

In all honesty, I think if I had purchased this stone "wanting" it to look
hot-pink all the time, I "might" be disappointed.....
But I am not.
I love how it looks red at times, and hot pink at times.
That makes it special to me.

I see your dilemma....
If I had to choose between the two stones you are considering, fireypiropixy,
I would likely have a very difficult decision....
My heart goes to that little pear, though, despite its size.
Others may have differing opinions, that's just my opinion.
With a diamond halo, it won't be "that" small, if you love the COLOR
It's what YOU love that matters most.....
Couldn't you get both and send one back????

From what I gathered from some other posts . . . Swala was a vendor who I'd be much better off making 100% sure so I wouldn't have to return. Expensive shipping, holes in the mail service . . . I have never seen a good spinel IRL, and have over 50 shots of "The Best of PS Mahenge Spinel" up on my desktop on this huge 30 inch monitor! LOL I've been going through and saving a picture which was ideal . . . comparing it to the next one I thought ideal . . . seeing that in bunches of cases I was looking at completely different tones and shades.

I just . . . want . . . a perfect ideal color . . . neon so that it pops. From your stone pics, I would have sworn that your pear would have been a vendor pic like the trillion I'm thinking about . . . so it was a surprise that it MORE resembled the pear. And I know! That little pear is so sweet, isn't it. Yet . . . so small. I even made little hand paper representations. (CrazyCrazyPixy)



I just worried . . . even if it's so saturated and bright . . . it might, no matter how many halos I gave it . . . just sort of . . . disappear.

So I've been trying to make extra sure by asking Eric a lot of questions . . . and when he goes away for a while, I come here to ask you guys! LOL There is another he has suggested I consider, in light of fears of the smallness. But, I'm not going to threadjack anymore -- I'll start a new topic. Thank you so much for your information!

fiery, I know what you mean.
It's all about individual taste, and what is going to
really appeal to you on a very "personal" level.

See, I look at the size of your pear cut-out and see
the perfect size for a ring stone !
You look at it and think it's a bit little.
I would feel very odd wearing a ring with a screamin' stone
in a bigger size, but I think most folks on the CS forum
feel more like you do, size matters

I don't mind that you ask questions on my thread, not one tiny bit !!!!
But you might get more opinions on your search if you start a thread !!!
